On tour to promote the Outside Inside album which gave The Tubes their biggest radio hit "She's A Beauty". The single went all the way to #1 on the Mainstream Rock Chart and #10 on the Pop Singles Chart. Not bad for a punk band not interested in commercialism. My first encounter with The Tubes came in the form of a Cher TV Special (Cher really is a huge Tubes fan) I had to watch with my parents. A part of the show had an Angel and the Devil fighting for Cher's soul. The Angel was played by Dolly Parton and the Devil by The Tubes. Each artist went back and forth playing a couple of songs to try and sway Cher over to their side. Dolly Parton won on the TV but The Tubes won me over for life.
