The last time I posted a Cannonball Adderley show it was extremely popular. I figured everybody might want at least one more show for their collection. This one I believe this recording should be in your collection as well. There is a comical little story about the song "Little Boy With The Sad Eyes" that gives you a new appreciation for the song. I hope this makes for a nice Sunday Morning Jazz listen....

Oh by the way, this recording features 2 future Legends, Charles Lloyd on sax and future Weather Reporter Josef Zawinul on piano.

Another great show from My very deep Jazz Archive. This one also comes from the now terribly missed web site, BigO. The Legendary Cannonball Adderley with the also Legendary George Duke in his band put on one hell of a show here. I actually have this one spinning right now enjoying my coffee and My Sunday Morning Jazz. What BigO said about this show is bellow.

What BigO Said:
From the Miles Davis Sextet in 1959 to appearing on the Kung Fu TV series in 1975; and even getting a tribute by Joe Zawinul on Weather Report’s Black Market album, that’s a big arch for anyone, but probably all in a day’s work for Cannonball Adderley.

This is a fine electric jazz show from a finely-honed unit. Keyboardist George Duke has some stellar moments on "Black Messiah" while Cannonball’s brother, Nat Adderley, gets to shine on "Hummin’". Meanwhile, "Soli Tomba" entrances with its Asian feel. For those not familiar with this show (seems well circulated among Cannonball fans), you will be easily tempted to leave it on repeat mode.
