Known Flaws:
- The second Levi's Cords commercial has a sound effect that sounds so close to record static I don't know what the producers were thinking. It is not the record it is the effect.
- At the beginning of "Euroshima" there is a stage noise like a loose cable.

Recording Notes:
- There is a locked groove test tone at the start of Side A for DJs to set levels and ballance befor broadcasting. It has not been encoded.
- There are 2 locked groove show promo beds at the end of Side B. One with a Bill Minkin voiceover one without, they have been encoded and moved to the end of the program.

Editing Notes:
- A Zerostat Positive Ion gun was used on LPs prior to playback.
- A carbon fiber record brush, then a microfiber disc cleaner was used on the records prior to playback.
- Records hand cleaned with Record Research Lab Super Record Wash before playback.
- LP cleaned with the HumminGuru Ultrasonic Vinyl Record Cleaning System using distilled water prior to playback.
- Raw transfer: EQ off, treble and bass levels set at +/- zero for most accurate sound of LP.
- Turntable & tone arm balanced: Needle Tracking & Azimuth set: Needle Pressure & Antiskid digitaly set:
- Computer Soundcard stereo field maximized.
- Goldwave set to record while filtering any DC Offset.
- Recording and all editing done in 24bit/96khz.
- Preservation being key the show is encoded complete with commercials and voiceovers.
- Declicked manually and some noise reduction used depending on what best served the situation.
- Raised the volume of the commercials to match that of the music and voice overs.
- A rumble filter with an initial cut off of 50khz and a static steepness of 2 was used to lessen the needle noise on the commercials due to having to raise the volume to match that of the music and voice overs.

Other Notes:
- John Waite dedicates the song "Dream Time/Shake It Up" to John Lennon saying he wrote it years ago in New York.
- The song "The Choice" was unreleased at the time of this recording. It would be released on Waite's 3rd solo album Mask Of Smiles.
- This broadcast was recorded at 2 locations and edited to make one show.

Known Faults:
- As with all King Biscuit shows I've edited so far, the commercials had a maked difference in volume to the music.
- Volume of commercials was adjusted to match the body of the show. This causes excessive needle noise.
- There is a high pitched tone during the first few seconds of Bill Minkins initial introduction to the show. This is on the record so I left it even though it is anoying. There is also drum noise and an explosion during the same intro that really makes it a pretty poor listening experience and I don't understand D.I.R. using it.

Recording Notes:
- There is a locked groove test tone at the beginning of Side A for radio stations to set balance and output levels before broadcast. It was not encoded.
- There are two locked groove show promos at the end of Side C. The 1st has April Wine Music with a Bill Minkin voiceover, the 2nd has April Wine music only. They have been encoded.

Editing Notes:
- A Zerostat Positive Ion gun was used on LP prior to playback.
- A carbon fiber brush was used to help "sweep" dust from the record's gooves  prior to playback.
- Records hand cleaned with Record Research Lab Super Record Wash and soft velvet cloth before playback.
- LP cleaned with the HumminGuru Ultrasonic Vinyl Record Cleaning System prior to playback.
- Raw transfer: EQ off, treble and bass levels set at +/- zero for most accurate sound of LP.
- Turntable & tone arm balanced: Needle Tracking & Azimuth set: Needle Pressure & Antiskid digitaly set.
- Soundcard stereo field maximized.
- Goldwave set to record while filtering any offset.
- Recording and all editing done in 24bit/96khz.
- Preservation being key the show is encoded complete with commercials and voiceovers.
- Declicked manually and some noise reduction used depending on what best served situation.
- A High Pass Filter with an initial cutoff of 60khz with a Static Steepness of 2 was used to lessen the needle noise during commercials. This needle noise being due to the low volume of the commercials and having to raise said volume to match the music and voiceovers.

Other Notes:
- Being a Best Of The Biscuit both portions of the show were broadcast before.
- The John Waite portion was broadcast on King Biscuit Flower Hour #437 August 19, 1982. The setlist was the same as presented here, and there was nothing different with the mix or edits.
- Now the April Wine portion is a little confusing. The first King Biscuit Flower Hour with April Wine that I can find is King Biscuit Flower Hour #KB-359
- That King Biscuit was recorded at The Hammersmith in London, England.
- This show is confirmed to be Witchita by Myles Goodwyn thanking Witchita after "Future Tense".
- So is there another King Biscuit Flower Hour between King Biscuit Flower Hour #KB-359 and King Biscuit Flower Hour Best Of The Biscuit #BOB-465? Or did King Biscuit just use the Witchita show for the Best of The Biscuit by mistake?
- I have an FM copy of King Biscuit Flower Hour #KB-359 and it is not from this concert.
- The date of the show is another point. King Biscuit Flower Hour Records states on it's CD release of this show as Wichita, Kansas, USA November 21, 1982.
- There are a few different releases by April Wine that are said to be from King Biscuit Flower Hour shows. The first, "Greatest Hits Live" (1999) is said to be from King Biscuit Flower Hour, recorded at The Palmer Auditorium in Davenport, Iowa, USA November 21, 1982 which of course is not the location of this show. The second, called I Like To Rock (2002), says it's from Witchita, Kansas November 11, 1982 and it is the re-release of Greatest Hits Live 1997 (an album I haven't found). Of course we know the release on King Biscuit Records says its November 21, 1982.
- So I dated the show as from either November 11, 1982 or November 22, 1982. I know I could have said it a little more simple but this way was more fun for me.

- John Waite, former lead singer of The Babys was on tour for his first solo album Ignition.
- The song "Change" was written by Holly Knight while in the band Spider. The song was on the bands second an last album. The album also was the first recording of "Better Be Good To Me" which would be a hit for Tina Turner. Spider also had Anton Fig, of the Late Night With Letterman band, on drums.
- John Waite had help from some note worthy musicians in his backing band. Lead guitarist Frank Linx worked with Eddie Money, Pat Benatar and Del Lords. Rhythm guitarist Ivan Kral has worked with Shaun Cassidy, Blondie, Patti Smith. and Iggy Pop. Bassist Donnie Nossov played with Pat Benatar. Drummer Frankie La Rocca played with Scandal, David Johansen, Bon Jovi and Bryan Adams as well as produced The Spin Doctors debut album. While keyboardist Peter Reilich has worked with Gary Wright, Persia, Alessi Brothers, The Strand and Foreigner.
- Axe was on tour for their third album, Offering.
- Only one song in Axe's set, "Running The Gauntlet" was not from Offering. It appeared on the prior album Living On The Edge.
- After Axe's 1984 tour, lead guitarist Bobby Barth and rhythm guitarist Michael Osborne were in a devistating car crash. Michael Osborne died while Bobby Barth suffered terrible injuries. The band broke up and Barth worked on other projects. The band reformed in 1997 and are active to this day.
- Original Axe drummer Ted Mueller passed away June 29, 2012, he was 57.

When I received this show in flac from a Trader, it was in Japanese. I had to decode the flacs and re-encode them. My computer could not play them in Japanese. I renamed the files but still could not play them until I decoded then re-encoded the flac files.

For our next post of our Tribute To Rosebud's Favorite Singers is another from Steve Perry & Journey. Yet again live in Tokyo, Japan. Jonathan Cain is now in the line up, becoming a key song writer. Jonathan Cain would co-write every song released by Journey from the Escape album to Trial By Fire. He actually wrote more songs than Neal Schon in this period. For those that love this period of Journey you'll love this hit filled show.

The Babys would break up at the end of this tour. During the tour the band recorded their final album On The Edge. Oddly enough it was in Ohio that it all came to an end. On December 9 1980 John Waite was pulled from the stage by a fan seriously injuring his knee. The band performed in Akron Ohio and cancelled the remainder of the tour. The band broke up after that, with their label releasing On The Edge posthumously.

John Waite went on to a successful solo career. Tony Brock went on to drum for Rod Stewart and produce both Jimmie Barnes and Keith Urban. Wally Stocker went on to play guitar for Rod Stewart, Air Supply and Jerry Shirley's Humble Pie. Jonathan Cain went on to join Journey. The Babys had served as opening act to Greg Rolie's last tour with Journey. Greg admitted after leaving the group, that during the tour while preparing his exit, he would watch Cain's keyboard solo from the wings. This served as Cain's audition without even knowing he was being scouted to join Journey by the bands own keyboardist.

The person I got this from thought it was a Pre-FM recording because of the clean sound. During the introduction the hoist can be heard saying a live as it happens concert. There fore this is actually a very fine FM recording.
