Wayne Kramer died February 2, 2024 from pancreatic cancer, he was 75

Look I promised you some great stuff including some rare Master Tapes. This recording from The MC5's guitarist, vocalist, song writer Wayne Kramer I haven't seen anywhere but The Trader's Den. I also have no idea how many Wayne Kramer or MC5 related soundboards are out there but I venture to say they are pretty rare. Especially since Wayne Kramer released a huge box set of MC5 material including all the John Sinclare recorded soundboards.

This recording is so sweet sounding, so damn powerful that you would swear it was a commercially released live album. There is great stereo separation and effects. The power of The Street Walking Cheetahs double bass player line up shines through with out making mud of the mix. The uploader says it was recorded straight to disc. My guess is they used something like a rack mounted VocoPro CDR Recorder (I have one). They record so damn nice and in 24bit as well. The only draw back is the button to make tracks as you record actually stops the recording for 3 seconds. So you lose some of the stuff you were recording. This is what I think caused the cut before "Junkie Romance". The notes do say that the Master Discs were untracked so maybe. This is a Diamond of a Recording Do Not Pass Up This True Testimonial!! This is a great simulcast show from Triumph on tour for my favorite Triumph album Thunder Seven. I like Thunder Seven because it really combines the dual personalities of Triumph's song writers perfectly. Gil Moore always had more of the Hard Rockers while Rick Emmett had more of the Melodic Rockers. Thunder Seven combined their talents the best in my opinion. It just has a better feel to me. Like "Rock & Roll Machine" and "Magic Power" if you play the studio versions to some one who doesn't know Triumph they may not think it's the same band. However if you play "Spellbound" and "Rock Out Roll On" they fit together better, they flow. I love every album the original line-up released but my go to is Thunder Seven. As for Edge Of Excess, I have it on vinyl, I bought it used along with Surveillance to complete my collection.

Bocephus kicking ass like only he can. I was kicked out of the one and only Hank Williams Jr. show that attended. It was Molly Hatchet, The Marshall Tucker Band, The Charlie Daniels Band, and Hank Williams Jr at Pine Knob Amphitheater in Clarkston Michigan. When Hank started playing "Family Tradition" Rosebud and I fired up a joint of some really good green.Halfway through the joint I have a cop walk up behind me and say "I'm not going to arrest you but you are going to have to leave". That was the only Country Music show I ever got Rosebud to attend.

This show popped up at The Trader's Den just a few days ago. It's a pretty good sounding show with a liitle bit of the higher gen source making itself known. It suffers from a little loss of clarity in the high end and some tape noise. However it is a very enjoyable listen. Steve Miller is on fire for this show. It's been on my player every night since I downloaded it it's that good of a performance, an Absolute Must Have!!!!

Oh by the way that is Journey's Ross Valory beating on the bass guitar. I didn't know he played in The Steve Miller Band before Journey.

Another gem of a recording from Mike Millard. I'm willing to bet that me posting a Todd Rundgren show might be a surprise because I only post what I listen to. I actually do listen to Todd Rundgren, I'm not a fanatic but there is some of his stuff I do appreciate. It wasn't always that way though. I had heard "Hello It's Me" and "I Saw The Light" on the radio but no more. It changed one day when my cousin Jamey and I were walking to the corner store to play video games. Under a bush by an intersection I saw a record. It was Todd Rundgren's Something/Anything and it was in pretty good shape. I took it home and listened to it. I was not to impressed then and put it away and did not play it again for a long time. It was after my guitar player played me Todd Rundgren's No World Order in 1993. I revisited Something/Anything with the same mindset I did when I listened to Frank Zappa's early records with the doowop stuff. As a musician that quickly became bored with the 2 and a half minute POP Song Format. When I first listened to the album I had no idea what Ant-Pop was. I do now I guess...Anyway this is a great sounding audience show that should be in every Todd Rundgren fan's collection.

I remember hearing Joe Jackson's "Is She Really Going Out With Him?" on the radio, thought it was good and bought the 8-track of Look Sharp. I loved the album. It was so much more than the quirky Anti-Pop of "Is She Realy Going Out With Him?". For me as a teenage musician wanting to write songs Look Sharp & I'm The Man were eye opening. I would put them as just as important to budding 1980s song writers as Elvis Costello's My Aim Is True or Patti Smith's Horses. Personally for me it sent me down a more raw approach to my lyrics and music. It helped when I started turning to writing Heavy Metal songs. I used the influences of what Patti Smith, Joe Jackson, Wendy O. Williams, Motörhead and The MC5 had taught me. It worked pretty good for me and a lot better for some others...Hope this energetic show helps you get over the hump this week....
