As I sit here this morning sipping my coffee, looking out my back window at this sunny Sunday Morning I hear the neighbor's daughters outside playing. I could not help thinking of Chick Corea's Children's Songs. I decided with the bright sun outside that some vibes were in order. Hence this short but o so sweet show from Chic Corea and Gary Burton. It's only 43 minutes of a much longer concert but it's a beautiful recording that is so enjoyable I know that this will be a welcome addition to your Sunday Morning Jazz wake up....Enjoy!

Oh by the way, the cover art included in the original download did not match the track list of this recording. I included it anyway because it lists the entire set list on the back. I am actively looking for the complete show.

Nice sounding recording. If you like the pairing of Chick Corea & Gary Burton you will enjoy this show too. Makoto Ozone's playing is different from Chick Corea's but Gary's vibes mesh with his playing just fine.

First up for this weeks Sunday Morning Jazz is from one of my personal favorites Chick Corea. This time it's with long time duet partner Gary Burton. Chick & Gary have been performing and recording together since the early 1970's. These legendary performers have such a rapport that anytime they get together they can instantly improv on any theme. Download this one and enjoy some great musical moments between two of the greatest in their field.

Our second Sunday Morning Jazz offering comes from the pairing of 2 Jazz Legends. Chic Corea and Gary Burton have been performing duet shows for a couple decades now and have an awesome musical relationship. Any one who is a regular visitor to The New JDP knows how much I love the music of Chic Corea, this show has been in heavy rotation on my MP3 player for a month now and I don't see it slowing down in the near future. The sound is very fine and also we get Chic playing vibes on "Armando's Rumba"! Don't miss this one!
