I have had this DVD for a little while now but had to research it to make sure it was not an official release. The DVD artwork said it was a 2009 German licensed release of a 2004 Geffen Records release. The art also says it is from a 2004 North Sea Jazz Festival performance. The show is from a 2003 North Sea Jazz Festival performance from when Pat Metheny was Artist In Residence for the festival. If it was an official release you would think the date would be correct. Also I checked Pat Metheny's website and the DVD is not listed or being sold by Pat Metheny's official store. So unless someone tells me otherwise it's a bootleg and ready for download along with the audio.

The show is an awesome performance with The Metropole Orchestra. The arrangements are fabulous and everyone puts in an awe inspiring performance. Pat Metheny fans are going to love this recording. I run my DVD player through my stereo because it has Surround Sound with a subwoofer. My computer is hooked to my stereo also because of my collecting of bootlegs and my encoding of shows. Therefore easy to record DVD audio on my computer.

The DVD is uploaded into it's own MEGA folder, the audio rips are zipped as usual. If any one has problems downloading the DVD let me know.

Sam Elliot's Mustache who is a member of The Collective Of Live Music and is my main supplier of King Biscuit Flower Hour Vinyl told me Chris Rea along with Mark Knopfler and a couple others were his favorite guitar players. Now when I heard that, as a "Thank You", I zipped up this great show from Chris Rea in 1987. This is not just any recording though. It's an Emperor Nobody Remaster of A Pre-FM recording. The man is great at making a nice recording sound great.

I originally downloaded the show because I knew Chris Rea's hit "Fool If You Think It's Over" which I liked. I figured I would check out a show from Chris, downloded this one, and I loved it. Now it's time to share it with you my friends. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have these past few days because it's been in heavy rotation at my home.

Emperor Nobody's notes on the remaster are included in the download.

Known Faults:
- It's one of those broadcasts where the DJ speaks parts of some songs, I was able to separate 1 set of DJ comments from the body of music so it may be deleted if so desired. All other DJ comments are spoken over music.

Recording Notes:
- Recording is of the entire set from Carcass as the Festival for the most part was aired in entirety.

Editing Notes:
- Recording and editing done in 24bit/96khz.
- Tracks 12-14 were recorded on side 2 of the cassette therefore I had to make a crossfade between "Exhume to Consume" and "Corporal Jigsore Quandary / Forensic Clinicism / The Sanguine Article".
- No EQ, noise reduction or any other sound tampering done.

Other Notes:
-  Carcass formed in Liverpool, England in 1985. The band were early founders of the Grindcore genre. Carcass was also instrumental in the Goregrind, Deathgrind and Melodic Death genres as well. With every release the band refined their sound and grew as musicians. The band was one of the few Death Metal bands to actually be signed to a Major Label in the 1990's. Morbid Angel, Entombed and Cannibal Corpse were the others. The majors wanted to share in this global market but didn't know how to market Death Metal bands so each was dropped after one album. Carcass disillusioned with the business broke up. This recording comes from the reunited Carcass who have at the time of this posting released their sixth studio album entitled Surgical Steel.

So I had planned on posting this a little while ago but with all the crap I went through with Blogger over Filefactory it wasn't posted. This is a very nice recording from Frank Zappa's 1976 Tour. The cool thing for me is that Frank has Grand Funk Railroad drummer Donny Brewer play drums on "Dinah Moe Humm".

Frank Zappa produced Grand Funk Railroad's final studio album with original bassist Mel Schacher. The band had already broken up after the release of the album Born To Die. Grand Funk wanted Fank Zappa to produce the album but it didn't happen. When Frank Zappa admitted interest in producing an album by Grand Funk Railroad the band reunited just to record with Frank!! The resulting Good Singin' Good Playin' actually had Frank Zappa playing lead guitar on the instrumental track "Out To Get You". This was the last Grand Funk recording at their own studio "The Swamp" in Fenton Michigan. The swamp is still in operation. My band Psychosis were lucky enough to have recorded our debut album there. When I told my guitar player that Frank Zappa had recorded in the very studio we stood in it seemed to put that little more to his playing we would get from him live, Frank being one of his biggest influences.

Besides it's small faults this is a very enjoyable recording. The sound is pretty clear and a little punchy without a muddy bottom end. If you like Chlliwack you actually need this recording. There are so few recordings from Chilliwack out there that any one that you can grab...Do It!!!

This one comes to us from our frequent reader and friend Gman. Gman also shared His great recording of Steely Dan and Steve Winwood in Vegas. Once Again Thank You Gman. Rosebud, Spider and I have enjoyed a few listens of this show already. I think it will be in rotation at your place after download!

Another old show with a 1990s remaster from King Biscuit Flower Hour. The show was longer when it first aired back in 1983, but King Biscuit had trimmed it's shows down to one CD by this time. If you have this show on your drive in other forms this may be a sonic upgrade for you. I like it but it's missing the one thing that makes a great REO Speedwagon show...."Golden Country" the best song they ever wrote in my opinion, and the heaviest, it should be a Heavy Metal song, it's close enough in it's own on R.E.O./T.W.O. Anyway here's REO Speedwagon!!!

- Preservation being key show is encoded complete with commercials.

- No noise reduction used manually declicked in Goldwave.
- Minor artifacts from vinyl playback left alone so it still sounds like vinyl.
- Volume adjusted on commercials to match live tracks.

So I thought I posted this already. Gman noticed I hadn't so I had to get it ready for all of you for this morning. This is another of the Westwood One Shows Rosebud gave me for Christmas! This was the first one I encoded and already have posted on The Trader's Den. So here it is and what a great show, too! From the first song to the last The Fixx are on point. I've been a fan since seeing the videos for "Red Skies" and "Stand Or Fall". Not sure which one I saw first, they were both in heavy rotation together so...The set is every song as a fan I would have wanted to hear and a little more. I have more Westwood One shows that Rosebud gave me that are coming up so stay tuned...

This CD comes from my personal collection. I did not know that it was a bootleg until recently. It's an awesome sounding recording of a phenomenal performance. Just look at the talent on that stage, anymore and it would collapse under the weight. Joshua Redman on sax, Pat Metheny on guitar, Christian McBride on bass rounded out by the rock solid drumming of Billy Higgins. I couldn't think of a better match to the Chic Corea & Gay Burton show I just posted. I hope these 2 recordings help ease you into a nice Sunday Morning.

As I sit here this morning sipping my coffee, looking out my back window at this sunny Sunday Morning I hear the neighbor's daughters outside playing. I could not help thinking of Chick Corea's Children's Songs. I decided with the bright sun outside that some vibes were in order. Hence this short but o so sweet show from Chic Corea and Gary Burton. It's only 43 minutes of a much longer concert but it's a beautiful recording that is so enjoyable I know that this will be a welcome addition to your Sunday Morning Jazz wake up....Enjoy!

Oh by the way, the cover art included in the original download did not match the track list of this recording. I included it anyway because it lists the entire set list on the back. I am actively looking for the complete show.
