Growing up in Detroit it was hard not bee taken by the Motown Sound, it was everywhere. My early music exposure, like most people my age, was the sounds coming out of the AM Radio in the front of my Dad's car. My Dad's favorite station was CKLW because they played the best variety of music. A lot of Motown came out of those speakers. The Spinners actually didn't make it big till after leaving Motown for Atlantic Records in 1972. Heir first Top 10 hit "Could It Be I'm Falling In Love" was actually the B-side to the "How Could I Let You Get Away" single. The song hit #4 on the singles charts while the A-side only made #77. So give this recording a listen to hear The Spinners in their most commercially successful period in their career.
