Mandrill is an American Funk band formed in Brooklyn, New York, in 1968. There music has been described as a combination of Sly Stone & Santana. There is no doubt that Latin Music was a heavy influence on the Wilson brothers and any fan of Santana's music should check them out for themselves. Both bands actually formed around the same time just on opposite sides of the country, Santana on the west coast, Mandrill on the east. Mandrill's sound leans heavier on the Funky side than Santana music does. Highly recommended to Santana & Funk fans alike!!

I got this from Big O, a great source for all kinds of music.
