Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush on tour to promote the Juggernaut LP. captured live by the BBC Rock Hour. This is a nice sounding Pre-FM recording made from the radio broadcast LP's. There really isn't cover art for this version of this classic Marino show. It is however the same show that was the source of the bootleg Return Of The Big Two, so I have included that cover art for you. This is a great performance so don't miss out on this one.

I don't usually post MP3's encoded lower than 192kbps because the sound quality is usually pretty poor after that. This is actually pretty good sounding for the low bit rate and also I have yet to find it in a better encoding. I downloaded this from a website in like 1997 when we had to download one track at a time and it would take a good twenty-five minutes per track. Storage space was also a concern as well so encodings were kept low. This was the time when most people had dial up modems (I did). I downloaded a copy of Bruce Springsteen's Coliseum Night on that dial up, one track at a time, it was a 192kbps encoding, it took me two days! And people complain to me that it takes them an hour to download a whole concert in 320kbps from filefactory. Anyway this must have been a great recording because at this bit rate it is still worth a listen! If any one knows of a better encoding please send me a link!

The law suits are settled Eddie Jackson, Scott Rockenfield and Michael Wilton have agreed to purchase Geoff Tate's portion of the Queensrÿche and Geoff can no longer tour as Queensrÿche featuring Geoff Tate. He may call himself the former lead vocalist of Queensrÿche for 2 years and then must cease. The split of the group has polarized the fans of the group in 2 factions, those who support Geoff Tate and those  who support the Todd La Torre line-up. Here at Just Dave's Place it's well known that we are firm believers that Geoff Tate is the true lead vocalist of Queensrÿche and no shows featuring Todd La Torre will ever be posted here.

Another great Pre-FM vinyl encoding from our good friend Draftervoi. This awesome edition of the 1980's radio show Retro Rock features a great early performance from Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. The band was touring  for thier second release Your Gonna Get It. The album was driven to #23 on the Billboard Top LP Chart by radio friendly singles "I Need To Know" and "Listen To Her Heart". Retro Rock was on the air from around 1981-1984 and specialized in rebroadcasts of classic radio concerts. Such acts as Bob Seger and Kansas have also been featured on Retro Rock.

Our first Iron Maiden offering comes from the era fronted by Paul DiAnno. Paul fronted the band through it's formative years, recording the bands first 2 full length albums. Paul was fired from the band after the tour for the second release Killers. Dianno himself admits that his drug use and erratic behavior was just too much and he would not have been able to last much longer. Dianno was replaced by former Samson vocalist Bruce Dickinson for the follow up release "Number Of The Beast" and the Maiden machine began to roll over the world. Clive Burr was dismissed during the Beast On The Road World Tour for what Steve Haris called performances that were affected by off stage activities. Clive maintained he was unfairly fired. Clive passed away from complications due to multiple sclerosis at the age of 56. The treatments for his disease left Clive deep in debt. Iron Maiden had quite a few charity events to raise funds to assist in Clive's care.
