Well I've done some reposts for Christmas, here is something new (well it's being re-gifted let's say) off the hard drive. I didn't know I had this. I was just cleaning out a very full (always full) download folder and it was there. I though "Hey Merry Bruce-mas!". It's a fun show with some great guests, I think you all will enjoy it

Rare Australian Westwood One Radio Show. Not very many of these shows were produced. I found this one on Guitars101.com.

It's a great concert from a service that I only a few days ago found existed. Added bonus is that Clarence Clemons of The E Street Band joins The Queen Of Soul on stage for a rocking "Freeway Of Love". This is a must have for collectors and fans alike. You need this!!

As far as can tell Bruce Springsteen is not selling this concert. He's released quite a few old shows. This early era show has really good sound and should be in your collection. I really don't know what to say other than, It's Bruce doing that thing he does best Rockin' the house.

So let me just say that you should not let the AUDIENCE word keep you from downloading this great set. The sound is awesome for audience recordings. The taper must have sat in the same place each night. That or had access to The Garden so he could place his mics, because the sound doesn't vary much. If you do not have this collection you really should because Bruce and band are on fire, delivering one excellent performance after another.

3 long shows stretched over 9 CDs for over 8 hours of Rock & Roll. That means this is a really big file set so the downloads have been broken up a bit. All zip files will unzip separately.

JustDave's Notes:
I downloaded the flac from https://flac24bitmusic.com/ when I do I like to check if the files are lossless or not. The files were lossless but not decodable without error so I decoded then re-encoded them, there are no errors now.

I just love early Bruce Springsteen music. My favorite era is from the first album to The River. For me it seemed Bruce had reached a point where everything he had tried to do with the early albums culminated and he had to start anew. It's not that I don't like the post River albums but Bruce himself has said he had to try some different things in song writing to keep it fresh for himself. Tunnel Of Love and the tour that followed is a wonderful example of my point. Bruce had changed things around admittedly to shake things up. Don't get me wrong please, I think Bruce did a wonderful job transitioning from the 1970s to the 1980s and beyond. We love you Bruce...Thank you for decades of great music!!

Ahhhh! I love early Bruce Springsteen! From Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J. to The River is my favorite era. The River is one of my favorite Bruce albums. I go back to it a lot. To me it kind of seems like a culmination of everything Bruce had become as a songwriter during his early days and foretold his songwriting future. "The River" with it's true feeling of the repression happening in America at the time touched on musical areas felt as far back as "Adam Raised A Cane". While "Hungry Heart" written for and in homage to The Ramones showed everyone that Bruce Springsteen was destined to hit the charts hard with his next effort. With Born In The USA Bruce took his social commentary to the charts. Then the world new what we all new. Bruce Springsteen can write a hit song and still tell a story that needs to be said. Also Bruce Springsteen can Rock with the best of them!!

justdave's notes:
I ripped the waves with DVD Audio Extractor. I then used Goldwave to edit track marks and raise the volume a little. No EQ or noise reduction was used. No remixing or remastering was done. The "Interview With Bruce (In German)" track starts before the end of "Hungry Heart" and finishes just as "Glory Days" begins, making it hard to remove from this place therefore it remains there. The show was over 2 hours long. I have edited the show to flow like the live presentation. If you want to make a set of CDs you will need to decided where you would want them split. The recording does have it's flaws most noticeable is the audio difference during the long camera shots. These shots have a slightly muffled audio. All in all the tape is a very enjoyable listen and a must have historical document. So far Bruce has not released this recording.

It's Live Bruce Springsteen in East Berlin before the wall came down....what else needs to be said?

Clarence Clemons died June 18, 2011 from complications of a massive stroke, he was 69
Danny Federici died April 17, 2008 from complications of melanoma, he was 58

The band was on tour supporting Blood, Sweat & Tears when this recording was made. It's funny when Rosebud & I previewed this recording when it ended, she asked "Is that it? Is there a more complete source?" I laughed and told her it was from Bruce's early days opening for who ever would have him. She said "It's strange to think of Bruce not playing a 3 hour set." Truthfully I had to agree with her. Seeing Bruce Springsteen live is like going to a festival and only one band shows up. Being team players the band plays the whole festival. That means going through half their catalog but that's Rock & Roll. I mean if you haven't been to see Bruce, he's the only artist I ever seen that I truly was done when the concert was over.

For those who already downloaded the boot I have uploaded just the articles as well

The 2 Mountain View Amphitheater shows were the 1st outdoor shows of Bruce Springsteen's Tunnel Of Love Tour. This particular show is also the longest show of the North American leg the tour. That's not the only history maker from this set either. "Little Latin Lupe Lu" makes it's return to the set after not being performed since 1977. "Twist And Shout" makes it's return to the set after not being performed since 1988. You also get the soundcheck performances of "I'm So Lonesome I could Cry" and "Crying". I would say if you are a Springsteen fan, you need this one for your collection. The flac files tested lossy so I am only posting this one in MP3 320kbps.

Even though it's only in MP3 since Bruce loves to play Ben Hur style shows I had to separate the files into 2 sets. Both sets can be opened separately

An acoustic simulcast show (live on the radio as it happens). There is a copy of it going around that claims to be Pre-FM but I wonder how a simulcast could have a Pre-FM source. Must mean they taped it from the radio's board as it happened. Or it went out over the airwaves again as a syndicated show. Either is possible, just a stoner thought that kind of made sense.

This is a great little show I didn't know existed until maybe a month ago. I did a search on it and as far as I can see Bruce hasn't released this one yet. He has released a few nice "Legacy" recordings (as bands call the these days). I like to call them remastered bootleg material. Which some collectors hate them, because it takes trading bait off the table. I love getting the professionally mixed recording myself, so I'm a little different I guess. I have quite a few of the newly released Bruce "Legacy" live shows and the ones I have sound great. No over dubs but definitely remixed very nice compared to the old bootleg versions. At any rate enjoy this nice piece of Bruce Springsteen history.
