Another from the Capitol Port Chester, NY dump. This one is with a full band and if you look at the times all the songs are extended a little to allow for soloing. Warren Haynes covers Doris Day, Sly Stone, Stevie Wonder, Steely Dan, works Van Morrison's "Tupelo Honey" into the middle of The Allman Brothers' "Soulshine". Following that with a jam on Robert Johnson's "32-20 Blues" working The Meters' "Fire On The Bayou" into the middle of that. You just have to hear it.
JustDave's Notes:
- Part of the Capitol Theatre, Port Chester, NY soundboard dump on Guitars101.com.
- Recording was in 2 16bit/48khz untracked mono soundboard flacs.
- I decoded the files with Trader's Little Helper. I then used Goldwave 6.83 to convert the waves to stereo 16bit/44,1khz. I used Goldwave's Stereo Center function to boost the sides using the center audio. After that I indexed the tracks also with Goldwave v6.83.
- I used Trader's Little Helper to encode the wave files to Flac Level 8 16bit/44,1 aligning all sector boundaries.

Another one that Speedy at So Many Roads To Ease My Soul was interested in having this one with the tracks split. Can't say I blame him since it's a solo appearance with Warren and a guitar most of the way through. He is joined on a couple songs by a saxophone player. On a couple others members of Railroad Earth.

This is a really good sounding recording from Outlaw Country Legend David Allen Coe. Sounds like it was ripped from a vinyl bootleg source. Joining David on this recording is none other than guitar wizard Warren Haynes. Fans of David hold this particular band in high regard, some going as far as saying that this is the best era of David's career. I must say I see this as one of many high water marks in a long career. If you love Outlaw Country, David Allen Coe or just good Country Music this boot should not be missed.
David Allen Coe is the living embodiment of Outlaw Country, having spent plenty of time in correctional facilities starting with reform school at age 9. Coe spent the next 20 years in and out of jail cells. He was convinced to start his career in music by none other than Screamin' Jay Hawkins who he spent time with in prison. He came to the attention of Country Music insiders by living in a hearse outside of the Grand Ole Opry. Soon he was writing hit singles for the like of Tanya Tucker, Billie Jo Spears, and Johnny Paycheck. These hits furthered his own recording career. When the I.R.S seized his home in Key West, Florida, Coe moved into a cave in Tennessee! To paraphrase one of David's songs .. If that ain't outlaw country, I'll kiss your Ass.
In 1999 Coe met Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrel Abbott, struck by the similarities between country music and heavy metal the 2 started to work on Rebel Meets Rebel a County Metal hybrid that was released 2 years after Dimebag's murder at the hands of a crazed fan of Pantera.

I ripped the waves with DVD Audio Extractor. I then used Goldwave to re-edit some track marks and to raise the volume, no EQ or noise reduction was used. The waves were encoded to MP3 320kbps because the DVD had lossy audio.
"Two Of A Kind, Workin' On A Full House" was written by Warren Haynes & Dennis Robbins for a Dennis Robbins' solo album. Dennis Robbins was a member of the Detroit Rock & Roll band The Rockets. When The Rockets broke up Dennis Robbins went on to record a couple solo albums of Country Music. The song "Two Of A Kind, Workin' On A Full House" was later covered by Garth Brooks and became a smash hit.

Draftervoi's Original Notes:
The big mystery:
This version is digitized from Westwood One Superstars In Concert CO-89-26 for broadcast the weekend of September 22, 1989. The concert is identified as from the Concord Pavilion by the announcer on tracks 1 and 26.
There is another Westwood One Superstars In Concert show from 1990 with an identical track listing, 90-16 for broadcast the weekend of July 14-15, 1990. The number 90-16 is printed on the LP discs and that number is in sequence with the broadcast window date (90-15 is Henley for July 8-9 and show 90-17 is Bruce Hornsby for broadcast July 21-22).
However, the cue sheet for the 1990 Allman Brothers show has the number of 90-28 on it.
There was an ongoing mix-up that summer at Westwood One, because the Henley show for July 7-8 has discs 90-15 and cue 90-27, the Petty show for Aug. 26-28 has discs 90-22 and cues 90-34, the Elton John show for Sept. 22-23 has discs 90-26 and cues 90-38. And there may be more....
The 1990 show - whether it's 90-16 or 90-28...has been identified several times on Ebay as Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View. Presumably that comes from the announcer, too, but I can't verify that as I don't have a copy.
The Allman Brothers played both venues in 1989, a day apart:
Concord Pavilion Aug. 10, 1989
Shoreline Amphitheatre Aug. 11, 1989
Westwood One may have recorded both shows, but it's not likely they would have edited two identical track listings out of the raw recordings and broadcast both of them. The most likely guess is that one of the shows was incorrectly identified. It's also possible that the show is a composite of recordings from both venues, leading to the difference in attribution.
I'm listing this as Concord, but if anyone can confirm or deny the actual venue by comparing with an audience tape, that would solve this mystery.

This is a fabulous show from The Allman Brothers Band. Lots of great guitar playing from Warren & Dickie throughout the set. Allen Woody lays down a solid groove, while the triple percussion threat of Butch, Jaimoe, and Marc sound like one six armed drummer. A must have for all Allman Brothers Band fans.

Marc Quiñones drums, percussion, background vocals
A great sounding recording and an awe inspiring show from the The Allman Brothers Band on tour for the Shades of Two Worlds release. You get a nice blend of old and new songs, but the jams are kept short. "Whipping Post" is only stretched to the 12 minute mark, but there is plenty of great guitar pickin' going on. I'm always in awe of the percussion section, Jaimoe & Butch sound like one 4 armed man carrying the beat.
