Run-DMC were the first real Rap Superstars. They were the the band that hit the top and brought Rap into the living rooms of every home on MTV. There style of Rap could be considered the prototype of Rap Rock if you will, with there use of Rock Guitar Riffs and an early collaboration with Aerosmith. This recording comes from Def Jam's First World Package Tour. The bill was shared with The Beastie Boys. The tour would prove successful enough to warrant putting together another with Public Enemy, Eric B & Rakim and LL Cool J.
