We Haven't Done This Lately So Here Goes

 Rosebud & I have notice some new names coming up in the comments meaning either new readers or old readers who decided to post comments for the first time either way we wanted to say Welcome To The New JDP.

The common question seems to involve reposts of broken links and how does our policy on reposts work. Since Filefactory decided to dump everyone's files we have a lot of broken links. We actually have been working to repost them as I post new shows to the blog. There are a lot so it's a major work in progress.

That being said We want all our visitors to feel free to ask for reposts of shows that need it. However We like to post new shows with the reposts so repost requests will be sprinkled in with the newer shows. So I ask that if you have a lot of requests just make a few at a time so that I can keep them straight.

Rosebud & I like to think of this as our Family Room in our house where we listen to music, have a couple drinks of whatever we drink, have a smoke and talk music. So friendly request and comments are always welcome!

I Saw This When I Logged In Today!!

 I saw this when I logged in today to post some hard hitting bands to help get everybody through Hump Day. These can not be real hits. About 2000 were from The US, a decent amount from European Countries, over 3000 from Singapore. They were pretty high all over the map actually. I've never seen a number that large when checking my stats. That says 9280 visits! I just had to share it. It was like, "Holy s#@t Batman look at those numbers!"

All Christmas Shows Are Back Up

 Hello Everyone first let me Thank All Of You for your kind words during this hard time Rosebud & I are having. You have supported us through many rough times...THANK YOU!!

Now all of the Christmas shows are up and running with new MEGA links. I hope they help make your Christmas Holiday more cheerful.

Now I received quit a few Re-post Requests while Rosebud & I were tending to family affairs. I will get to those soon. My goal is to re-post all the files on the archive that are on Filefactory to MEGA. Filefactory is just too unreliable and slow for the times we live in now.

Also Myself and my Associates in The Collective Of Live Music have been hard at work and I can guarantee a lot of new shows are coming, a lot of which are Collective Of Live Music Exclusives.

 With a heavy heart I have to announce that Rosebud's Mom has passed away. 20 years ago we lost Rosebud's Dad....The two are together once again....

I Haven't Done This In A While

I received a lot of messages asking if I was alright since there was a long absence from posting. I am very sorry to have worried anyone. I am doing fine and my health is always getting better. I have even lost 45 pounds, now I am back to the weight I was when I met Rosebud 29 years ago.

I actually had gotten lost in my work. I have been encoding a lot of Pre-FM recordings from my ever growing collection. Since me and 3 other collectors kind of eased into becoming The Collective Of Live Music I have been buying Pre-FM vinyl like crazy. I am also assisting Draftervoi encode the very huge collection of Sam Elliot's Mustache. The fruits of this creative burst of energy are posted below.

There are 3 unique versions of the same concert from Smokey Robinson. Each different broadcast has it's own mix, and edits making each one a must have for collectors. Also there is a classic Pat Benatar King Biscuit Best Of The Biscuit from 1982. Another King Biscuit Best Of The Biscuit featuring Canadian Pomp-Prog Rockers Saga paired with Scandal touring for their first EP. One of many David Bowie Westwood One Superstar Concert Series recordings from Tokyo 1990. Country Music singer Gene Watson from one of his many Live From Gilley's appearances. Also something I'm really proud of finding Country Music Legend Roy Clark on the Silver Eagle Cross Country Music Show in 1982!!!!

There is a lot more to come: Eddie Money, Steve Forbet, Asleep At The Wheel, Don Williams, Quincy Jones, The Charlie Daniels Band, Charly McClain, Exile, The Pointer Sisters, April Wine, John Waitt, Aldo Nova, George Thorogood, Merle Haggard, and Charlie Pride. That's just to name a few....

Sorry there has been no Jazz lately. I will be better about that too.

Thank You All For The Kind Words

Rosebud & I have to thank everyone for their kind words and prayers! Rosebud's Mom is feeling better but has a long healing process in front of her. Rosebud's brother took the lead on assembling a health team for our Mom and they are doing a fine job, we couldn't ask for better.

We are aware that there is a pop up situation going on with Fikper...there have been virus warnings and some pop ups I heard have been not safe for women meaning porn...I never experienced that before with Fikper on other sites that have used it that I frequent so it upsets me...I am told that it will be as easy as me paying for a pro account to get rid of the pop ups...This I am very willing to do but it will have to wait til I receive my next check, which is in a few days yet...if that doesn't take care of it it's back to the drawing board. As you all know we had to find a hosting service other than Filefactory that 1. did not trigger Blogger's Virus filters 2. was usable around the world and 3. was also convenient for Us to use. I will pay for a month of Pro service and see if it works.

Sorry For The Inactivity

Hi everyone, We are sorry for the inactivity lately. We have not been home too much lately due to Rosebud's Mother being in hospital for a very bad fall. She lives in an assisted living facility due to her age, 88, and a need for more help in her daily life than she will let her family do for her. I bought a bigger house so she could live with Rosebud and I. She thank me but said no... So she was getting into bed but didn't call for help not wanting to bother the busy nurses. She fell backwards and couldn't get up so hit her alert button. When help came she refused to go to hospital and went to bed. During the night nurses had Mom sent to hospital for pain. After x-rays and an MRI they found she had broken a bone in her lower back where the spine meets the hip bones...She is now back at her living facility but facing a lot of therapy for it...Please be patient new post will return soon.

No New Posts For A While

There will be no new posts for a while...it seems that the latest posts I just added were flagged for violating Malware and Viruses policy?? So I will not be posting again for a little while don't know what's going on but if you get too many violations from blogger you get shut down so gonna wait a bit. I do have a back up this time.

We're Still Waiting

 It's been a little while since our last post so there has been a few very kind inquiries if Rosebud & I are doing alright. First let me say that is why we keep doing this blog...the very beautiful people we meet because of it...it's done out of love for you!

First thing since my last post I had another PSA test for my cancer. The result was undetectable again. I have to have testing every 3 months for a like 2 years then I go on a every 6 month schedule for another year or 2. I am a 58 year old Metal/Punk and I am actually planning on my very first tattoo. A prostate cancer cell surrounded by the word survivor which will go on my right shoulder.

Second I told you all that Rosebud & I celebrated 25 years of married life by buying ourselves our first house. It was in the process of being built then and we would be moved in by mid September. Unfortunately both slow state inspectors and some bad weather slowed down construction so the house isn't finished yet. It's close, so now the new assumption is that we should be able to move in by mid October (if no more delays happen of course). So I figured I'd set the main computer back up and check to see how everyone is doing and drop a show as well.

So We will check in again real soon!!!

Sorry We Have Been So Slow Posting Stuff This Summer

Sorry things have been so slow with the posts. Rosebud and I have been very busy working on a project for our family. As many of you know I have been medically retired for the past 5 years. This due to an injury unrelated to my cancer, that happened from a fall at work due to faulty equipment. With my retirement money blown on medical bills and unable to work I had to apply for my Social Security Benefits. I am not 65 so I had to actually get a lawyer so I could get the benefits I paid for. It took 5 years so they had to pay me 4.5 years of back pay. It really is harder than most people think to get your SSD.

They paid me my back pay and I put it to work for my family. I bought us a house, not just a house but a new one. A new construction which is close to being done. I have rented all my life so this is something I have dreamed of. With the economy scaring people the housing market has really slowed down. I found a very good price then I actually found a good fixed rate by shopping around (a 2 month mortgage search actually and Rosebud actually found it). So my plans for this summer got turned upside down by this. Now I will be packing for that move which is most likely coming in September. This means packing up my music room, a huge job. The last to go will be my computers and hard drives so that there will be playable music in the house. The picture above was taken by my oldest son Spider just 2 days ago. It shows how far they have gotten in the build. I may actually be moving in mid August by the looks of it

I Got My Blood Test Info In!!

So I received a great phone call at 9:00 AM 2 days ago, it was my urologist. He called me just after getting the pathology on the tumor and my PSA from my blood work. The tumor was all contained in the prostate so there was no spreading and my PSA was undetectable...I can consider myself Cancer Free!! Rosebud and I want to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for all the prayers. We would also like to thank you all for letting me share my journey through this with you. After all this is a music blog so I thank you, I really appreciate you.

Now the free music stuff. Rosebud and I are going to continue to pay tribute to the music idols we have lost. So lots of good stuff coming your way. This time we posted some David Bowie, some more great Southern Rock from The Outlaws who have lost 3 founding members. We also have a fantastic Elton John show from Tokyo 1971, this in tribute to the loss of a very underrated bass player Dee Murray. With this stripped down line up you can really hear what Dee brings to the table.

Not Sure What To Think

 This morning I logged onto my blog to check messages and to post some more music. When the blog came up a message said 6 of my posts were reset to draft for violations of community practices. 2 of the posts were hidden behind a caution explicit content banner like the one you have to click before entering Voodoo Wagon or Floppy Bootstomp. Which means the content was found to be explicit. The other 4 were just reverted to draft, they were said to be a virus threat. Each of those had broken links from Filefactory. I've been told that if you are downloading as a free user that broken filefactory links can give a virus warning. Both of these scenarios suggest to me that someone had to complain to blogger about those posts. It may be a wrong supposition but I can think of no other since the last time blogger started deleting posts the blog was deleted a few weeks later because of continuing complaints.

If the blog gets deleted again I just may not re-post it at a different address like I did last time. I have put in many hours at this keyboard posting bootlegs to the site. 10 years we have been going with only one move. Each of the posts deleted were over 5 years old, I don't understand any reason why they would be deleted or hidden now. Also I have been having difficulty downloading my blog backup. The last backup I have been able to achieve was February 28, 2023 which means moving would cause lost posts. None of the deleted posts were deleted due to DMRC complaints for copyright but for offensive content. So I have a few thoughts about how to proceed....

Quit posting forget about it and let the blog die

Keep posting until blogger deletes the blog and then just forget about it

Put up a warning offensive content banner up like on other sites

Move the blog to another blogger address and wait till they start screwing with me again

Find another place to host the blog and hope it isn't the same thing there

Make the blog by invitation only, I have seen that done too

The one thing I will do is ask politely if someone is messing with me for some reason please stop. Like I've said I have been here 10 years, 2,192 posts, I don't argue with people, I answer comments which most bloggers don't, I re-post broken links as quick as I can after being asked. I haven't received a DMRC in 8 years....lets not spoil it for all of us...I'm sorry if this offends anyone in any way that I may not have given attention to.

I Am Home And Feeling Better Every Day!

Hi everyone, I have to thank all of you that left messages of hope for my surgery. I must also thank those who said prayers for me as well! Words can not express how much they warmed my heart. I have been home since the 12th of January. My catheter was removed on 20th of January. I have a total of 7 incisions that are healing really well. In fact the smallest of them has completely healed, and all my "stitches" have fallen off. Yesterday was the first time I sat in my computer chair since having my prostate removed. It can be a bit uncomfortable but tolerable for a few minutes at a time. I had an appointment with my family Doctor for a follow up about 4 days ago and he said I look great and everything is healing nicely. My next check up with my Cancer Doctor is in about a month. This will be to see if my PSA numbers are at zero, zero will mean cancer free....

I will be taking a few days off after January 10

 I learned a little while back that my tumor had grown to take up one whole side of my prostate. This moves me up the ladder to stage 3 gleason 7. Which means I could reach stage 4 soon. So I have opted to have it removed. It will be done by robotic surgery through my abdomen. There will be 2 cuts with maybe 5 stitches each. A 2 day stay in hospital, then home to Rosebud to recover. My oldest son Spider (his Heavy Metal nick name) is coming to stay with us to help Rosebud help me. When I can comfortably sit down at the computer, and Rosebud says that it's okay (she's my Rock) I will be back.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! Wanted to let everyone know that Rosebud and I tested positive for covid-19 the day after Thanksgiving. Rosebud shook it off pretty quick, being back to work in 2 weeks. I however because of my Cancer weekend immune system developed a secondary infection in a salivary gland on the left side of my face. I developed a big liquid filled sore under my left eye that had it almost completely shut. The left side of my face was swollen like I had taken a really hard punch from a Heavy Weight Champion Boxer. It was really serious and I was almost put in hospital by my doctor who decided it might make me sicker (a good choice if you ask me). I have finally gotten some relief, my swelling and sores are gone.However I now have some sagging in my face as if I had a stroke. The left side of my mouth also doesn't work right, sagging when I speak. I have a few more so called "long covid" issues brain fog and exhaustion but feeling better every day. I have some new stuff for everyone coming soon!

All Holiday Music Links Are Good & Dave Gets A New Toy!!

Well it's that time of year, Christmas Shopping Season. To help keep you entertained while shopping all of our Holiday Music links have been checked and are operating. Also I have posted 2 more Christmas shows.

I also wanted to share a picture of my soon to arrive Christmas Present I bought myself. My Parents and My Mother In Law always give me money for my birthday and Christmas. I have been saving it for the past few years for something I really wanted. It's a HumminGuru Ultra Sonic Record Cleaner. It uses 40khz ultrasonic waves in a liquid bath to remove contaminates from vinyl records. I first learned of this process about 3 years ago. There is a Record Store that I frequent that uses one on every used record they sell. It arrives in about 3 days along with a new needle for my turntable. I can not wait to try it out on some of my vinyl boots I want to encode. Will let you all know how it works!

Good News & Good Tunes!!

Rosebud & I were so excited when we took this picture. The little guy with the dark markings is Chewie. He is our 4 year old and Rosebud's best friend. You may remember I lost my ferret Bear-Bear a few months back. He was my emotional support animal (going through cancer can suck) and service animal (he was trained to know if I was going to have a sugar attack). Well we obtained another baby a while back and put him in quarantine until he was old enough to be in the cage with Chewie. His name is Trouble, and yes he lives up to it. He ate a hole in his bed the 1st night. I have sections of my carpet I have to replace because of his tunneling. Don't get me started on the couch. He hasn't been doing to good on the sugar attack thing but he's become my constant companion. The Great News is that Trouble has moved into the big cage with Chewie and Chewie has accepted him! He has become a Papa raising a kit. It is always iffy when a ferret loses a cage mate. They can get so depressed they will starve themselves. Chewie had a rough time at first but has really come to love his new friend Trouble.

We also have new music to offer. The Rollins Band, Faith No More, Devo, make another appearance with new (for us) stuff. Making a New JDP Debut is The Doug Riley B-3 Quartet for all our Jazz Fans.

On the health front I just had my latest biopsy on my prostate to check the progression of my cancer. I should have the results in about 7 days. Remember when you have your annual physical exam make sure to include a prostate exam. Regular check-ups with the same Doctor is the best way for early detection. Early detection is the best way to ensure you have a better survival rate. Just ask your Doctor if you should add a prostate exam to your physical....
