Merry Christmas everyone! Wanted to let everyone know that Rosebud and I tested positive for covid-19 the day after Thanksgiving. Rosebud shook it off pretty quick, being back to work in 2 weeks. I however because of my Cancer weekend immune system developed a secondary infection in a salivary gland on the left side of my face. I developed a big liquid filled sore under my left eye that had it almost completely shut. The left side of my face was swollen like I had taken a really hard punch from a Heavy Weight Champion Boxer. It was really serious and I was almost put in hospital by my doctor who decided it might make me sicker (a good choice if you ask me). I have finally gotten some relief, my swelling and sores are gone. However I now have some sagging in my face as if I had a stroke. The left side of my mouth also doesn't work right, sagging when I speak. I have a few more so called "long covid" issues brain fog and exhaustion but feeling better every day. I have some new stuff for everyone coming soon!
Thanks For The Christmas Wishes Hope Everyone Had A Great Holiday!
JustDave & Rosebud
JustDave, I am so sorry you have had to go through this. That truly sucks. I am glad the swelling is gone, but I am sure it's hard to manage all of this. Sending you (and Rosebud) good energy as you manage this. I hope good music helps to lift your spirits and help you heal.

ReplyDeleteHey, Dave! Best wishes to you and the family during this time of difficulty. I've managed to dodge the disease (so far) but my wife Terri and grandson (who lives with us...) both had it last April. The effects vary a lot; Terri was the sickest I've ever seen her; grandson...well, I would have said he was faking except the daily tests were positive for five days. Best wishes to you, my friend!
ReplyDeleteHope you keep getting better and better every day, Dave. Thanks for all the great tunes and Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHey Dave, I'll see you on New Year's Eve 2050. You are indispensable. Long life to you my friend.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you're having a rough time of it, and hope you recover quickly and well. For what it's worth, I've heard many reports of people using Ivermectin with great success.Best to do your own research though.
ReplyDeleteMy Doctor treated my covid with high doses of vitamin C, vitamin D, and Zinc which worked great on that virus. The steroids and antibiotics were for the infected saliva gland which was a whole lot more serious than the covid. I work very closely with my family doctor and cancer doctor with any treatment I use other than prescribed because of possibility of serious interactions. They have agreed to my use of RSO oil a medical marijuana oil, which has been shown to shrink cancer tumors. As a person who used to work on a horse farm I know about Ivermectin it is a heart worm drug for horses that really is not considered safe for human use except for extreme parasitic infestations. I do thank you for the suggestion but with my own knowledge and use on the job...it's not for me. I do not however want to press my beliefs on other people because when it comes to health care of animals or humans I'm a great mechanic and musician LOL!!! Happy New Year!!

ReplyDeleteI am a music teacher in a conservatory in France. I tell some of my students, go to Dave's website "The New JDP" listen to what's there and present me a piece for next week. Some of them become completely addicted. This is how they discover MC5 and Sonic Youth... Thanks who? Thanks Dave ! Thank you for them.
ReplyDeleteWow did not know that rdnzl. That's really cool of you to do, I thank you! As a music teacher, have you ever read Daniel J. Levitin's book "This Is Your Brain On Music The Science Of A Human Obsession? I am in the middle of it and it is such a fascinating read. It starts at explaining how we process sound to how composers used timbre and pitch. I didn't know Ravel had an accident that rendered him unable to recognize pitch so wrote Bolero with timbre as his only compositional tool. When I left off the book was talking about an experiment where Petr Janata used an EEG to test people listening to music then just imagining listening to music. The pattern of brain activity was virtually indistinguishable. Ok now this comment reply is becoming something like the script for Ben Hur so I'll talk with you later rdnzl my friend.
