I ripped the waves with DVD Audio Extractor. I then used Goldwave to edit track marks. No EQ or noise reduction used. No remixing or remastering done. The DVD had lossy audio so I encoded the waves to MP3 320kbps using Trader's Little Helper.

How to explain Grindcore to someone who hasn't heard it before. That was the dilemma just the other day. I was listening to this show and it blew my son Spider away. Now Spider is a drummer and is no wimp when it comes to Heavy Metal but the genre is so broad now that you can go without hearing someone or something. Anyway back to Grindcore...I told him if you take Hardcore Punk, Thrash Metal, Noise Rock & Death Metal and mate them. The resulting monster should then be locked in a small dark room. Pump in the sound of political speaches & GG Allen rants non stop. Feed the animal in the closet a steady diet of Crack Cocaine, Meth Amphetamine and PCP. Also run a pipe flooding the room with gas fumes. After a few years give the resulting beast a guitar, a tube of glue to sniff then tell him to write some music. And here we are....

Juan Brujo and Fantasma, 2 Latin Americans from Las Angeles California, formed Brujeria complete with a fictitious back story. Every member was said to be a member of a fictitious drug cartel complete with aliases because they were wanted by the FBI. The band was not all Latin Americans, some where from other countries and not Latin either. Members of Faith No More, Dimmu Borgir, Carcass, Napalm Death and especially from Fear Factory. The band plays Industrial Death/Grind and sound similar to Fear Factory's earlier material like the Concrete Demo. Their lyrics are written with tongue firmly planted in the cheek of the writer. The humor may be a little clearer to our Spanish speaking visitors...

Napalm Death are credited with defining the Grindcore genre, they were one of the first to pioneer this extreme form of metal. Napalm Death released their first album in 1987, when the world was still not yet ready for Metallica. The Death Metal scene was in it's underground infancy known only to tape trading metal fanatics. The metal underground was exploding with bands eager to push the genre to new unexplored territory.

Grindcore is the spastic, ADHD bastard child of Hardcore Punk, and Death Metal. Songs can be from 1 second to 5 minutes long blasts of lightning fast guitar riffs, double bass blast beats, social political lyrics, and guttural to hysteric vocal delivery.

Interesting fact there hasn't been an original member in Napalm Death since 1986 when founder Nick Bullen left the band. The present line up is the longest, and most stable of the band having been together since 1991 when drummer Danny Herrera joined. Napalm Death's first album SCUM was recorded by 2 different line ups of the band, one per album side. The first side was completed in August 1986, the second side wasn't completed till May 1987, after Nick Bullen's departure.
