The Horns of Love:

Mike Spengler – trumpet

justdave's notes:
I ripped the waves with DVD Audio Extractor. I then used Goldwave to edit track marks and raise the volume a little. No EQ or noise reduction was used. No remixing or remastering was done. The "Interview With Bruce (In German)" track starts before the end of "Hungry Heart" and finishes just as "Glory Days" begins, making it hard to remove from this place therefore it remains there. The show was over 2 hours long. I have edited the show to flow like the live presentation. If you want to make a set of CDs you will need to decided where you would want them split. The recording does have it's flaws most noticeable is the audio difference during the long camera shots. These shots have a slightly muffled audio. All in all the tape is a very enjoyable listen and a must have historical document. So far Bruce has not released this recording.

It's Live Bruce Springsteen in East Berlin before the wall came down....what else needs to be said?

justdave's notes:
I ripped the waves with DVD Audio Extractor. I then used Goldwave to edit track marks. No EQ or noise reduction used. No remixing or remastering done. The DVD had lossy audio so I encoded the waves to MP3 320kbps using Trader's Little Helper.

I moved the interview from the beginning to the end of the show. That way if you don't want to listen to it you do not have to.

My son Spider picks my Avenged Sevenfold bootlegs for me. If he doesn't approve it I don't post it. He introduced me to the band some time ago when The Rev was still alive. He was Facebook friends with The Rev and A7X because of his job at The Palace Of Auburn Hills. Spider is a drummer and was influenced by The Rev's playing. He feels pretty lucky to know as he says "...some of my heroes are real nice guys.."

As most of you know I don't usually post a lot of audience recordings. They actually have to be an audience recording that I would want to listen to more than once. That means it has to be a pretty good audience recording before I even keep it. That being said, when I acquired this bootleg I immediately listened to it to see if it was a keeper. It was, I actually have listened to it more than 3 times in the past week since downloading it. The performance is awesome Van Morrison and his snazzy Jazzy band are in fine form. The sound is clear and you can hear all the instruments. The audience noise doesn't get in the way of the listen-ability of this show either. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I have been.

I've always felt Ice-T's Body Count had more in common with Hardcore bands like Minor Threat, Black Flag, and Government Issue. To hear Ice-T say on stage that he was influenced by D.R.I. tells me I was right in that assumption. I remember seeing an interview with Metallica around this time period where the guys noted "..rap as an art form was legitimatized now that Ice-T had a Heavy Metal band." I personally like to think that Rap was legitimatized as an art form when 3 white Punk Rockers from Brooklyn changed their group to a Rap group. That group, The Beastie Boys went on to sell millions.
