Phil Anselmo (Pantera) – vocals
Pepper Keenan (Corosion Of Conformity) – guitar
Kirk Windstein (Crowbar) – guitar
Rex Brown (Pantera) – bass
Jimmy Bower (Eyehategod) – drums

JustDave's Notes:
- This was at the end of side 2 of the My Dying Bride Waldrock 2004 cassette.
- This cassette I can not remember who I traded with to get, it was quite a few years ago I haven't traded tapes in a long time.

Editing Notes:
- Recorded & editing done at 24bit/96khz.
- I cleaned up the fade in and fade out of the beginning and end of the recording.
- I also evened the volume between the left and right channels. The left channel having been much louder than the right channel.

Other Notes:
- Promoting the Down III: Over the Under release, the lyrical content of which covers subjects such as the breakup of Pantera, the murder of ex-Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell, the band's anger at the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and Anselmo's recovery from back surgery and drug addiction.
- Down almost didn't let this broadcast happen due to their fear that the cover of When The Levee Breaks wasn't good enough.
- Down formed in 1991 with vocalist/songwriter Phil Anselmo of Pantera, guitarist Pepper Keenan of Corrosion of Conformity, second guitarist Kirk Windstein and bassist Todd Strange of Crowbar, and drummer Jimmy Bower of Eyehategod.
- All of the band members were longtime friends, and shared interest in bands such as Black Sabbath and Saint Vitus, which would significantly influence the music they made.
- The band made a three-track demo for underground trading. In an effort to build a fan base, the band would ask heavy metal fans if they had ever "heard of this band, Down" and hand them copies of the tape without telling the person that they were in the band.
- Eventually, the tape was distributed throughout the United States and Down played a small concert in its hometown. A record executive from Elektra Records was attending the show. When he found out who the members of the band were, he signed Down to a recording contract.

JustDave's Notes:
- I received this in a box of Pre-FM CDs & FM CD-rs sent to me by an online friend.
- This is only CD2 of 2, CD1 was not sent to me in said box of shows.
- No cue sheet for this CD was included either.
- I had to lower the voice over volumes 3db as they over powered everything else.
- Preservation being key the show was encoded with the commercials and voice overs.
- Commercials & voice overs indexed so the may be omitted if you so wish.
- There were 16 commercials after the show promo called "spots in the clear" not encoded.
- Also on this bill were Machine Head, Drain STH, The Muffs & Fu Manchu

Another from my Westwood One collection a Pre-FM Corrosion of Conformity show, which really blew my mind when I found out about it. I have posted this in an edited form before but this time I encoded the whole thing.

This is the first Pantera album to feature Philip Anselmo on lead vocals, It also marked a turn towards a heavier sound. Power Metal sounds more like Judas Priest than Def Leppard's On Through The Night, like the Terry Glaze era. The band has continually stated that the early records were just demos, not legitimate album releases. They also continually say they will never see a commercial release. So for all of you Pantera fans who wanted to to here them but couldn't find them, here you go. Power Metal sounds like a natural step between their Cowboys From Hell release and the 3 Glam albums with Terr Glaze. From Power Metal on, the band kept growing more and more heavy till they released one of the heaviest albums to hit The Billboard Charts. Far Beyond Driven was influenced by Death Metal, New Orleans Sludge Swamp Metal, and the Post-Thrash Groove Metal of Exhorder. The fans of both bands to this day go back and forth over who stole who's sound, Ehorder or Pantera. They are both great bands in my humble opinion.

At any rate Power Metal is a damn good album of Judas Priest influences filtered through the American West Coast Hair Metal. Villian's 7 tracks are pretty kick ass too. Their Heavy Metal take on Queen's "Tie Your Mother Down" is worth the download alone.

The Only Time Will Tell EP was the first release by Villain.

Pantera guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott was murdered on stage December 8, 2004, he was 38.

Pantera drummer "Vinnie Paul" Vincent Paul Abbott died June 22, 2018 from heart disease, he was 54.

Villian guitarist Carl Albert died April 22, 1995 in a car accident, he was 33.

Villian guitarist Greg E. Noll died February 27, 2020 from complications of diabetes, he was 55
