We have new posts from Jean-Luc Ponty, Return To Forever, and The Black Crowes. We have The 2nd Installment of Rosebud's Salute To Her Favorite Singers. This time it's 2 shows from Geoff Tate (freakin' vocal God) and Queensryche. Coming up in that series is shows from Rob Halford (Judas Priest), Paul Rogers, David Bowie, Grace Slick, Freddy Mercury and more. We also have the 1st show from Prog-Rockers Marillion to be posted on the blog.

As for old post that need new links, all of the Jazz links have been fixed so it's time to go through that archive to see if you missed anything. We have also started re-posting links for all Hard Rock and Heavy Metal shows. We are about halfway through that archive so the Metal will all be back soon as well. We are almost done, we have Classic Rock, Prog-Rock, Funk, Soul and R & B shows to re-post but we have a big amount of that mountain of work chopped down.

I had a biopsy recently, which was one year since the cancer diagnosis. The preliminary results show some growth in the tumor and my blood work shows all the bad numbers (PSA etc) have gone up (which explains why I'm so damn tired lately). The past few weeks I have been thinking over all the treatment options that my Doctor has put forward. I will be meeting with him again on the 29th of September to discuss them again at length. Rosebud and I Thank You So Much for letting us share this part of our life journey with you.

In the end what we really want to say is ..there is a lot more free music available from The New JDP and there will be a whole lot more to come...

Our 1st post from British Prog-Rockers Marillion is a fabulous Pre-FM Recording from the tour to promote their 2nd LP Fugazi. I learned about Marillion around 1984/85 through this kid Mike who my 1st wife had babysat in the past. He lived next door to wear she lived when her and I started dating. He had this great record collection, which was full of imports, minor label  and local releases.

We discovered Raven, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, & Manowar together. Every weekend I would spend a few hours talking music with Mike. One day he pulls out a few new albums he had ordered which included an album from Manilla Road, Marillion and Onslaught (British Thrash!!). He played a little of all 3 before he had to leave. I borrowed the Onslaught album and taped it. At the time I wasn't into Prog-Rock. I didn't come back to Prog-Rock and Marillion till the 1990's when I saw the Yes Union Tour (Awesome!!).

This Pre-FM from the Tour for Fugazi takes me back to those days when al of us Hardcore Punk Rockers and Metal Heads got together to create a new Music. Prog-Rock had no part in the Thrash Metal Movement. Like Punk Rock we wanted our music without the over indulgence that Prog-Rock could get bogged down in. Thank The Gods Of Music For Bands Like Marillion who kept the flag of Prog-Rock going.

Notes on Tracks:

"From The Darkside" and "The Dream" where never used.

"Rage For Order" was re-written as "Anarchy-X" on the Operation Mindcrime concept album.

"Scarborough Fair" wasn't released until the 2003 reissue of Empire, when the 1986 recording was included as a bonus track.

"Balla in B Minor" was re-worked into "I Dream I Infrared" before Rage For Order's release.
