Nice sounding recording and an awesome performance from the Adrian Belew Power Trio. The band includes a nice helping of King Crimson tunes in the mix, too. If your a fan of Adrian's work at all you really need to add this to your collection. I downloaded this from the Voodoo Wagon blog so thanks go out to them. There are  a few different people who post at Voodoo Wagon, one of which is our good friend Draftervoi. Check them out for a nice variety of bootlegs.

I have a soft spot in my heart for this show. I was in the audience that night. I arrived just before the band went on (no idea about if there even was an opening act). There was no seating available so I wove through the crowd and positioned my self in front of the stage. There was a nice gentleman next to me, and we kept nodding our approval  after each song. After the show we chatted a little and exchanged e-mails. A little while later he e-mailed me a link to these MP3 files. I am not sure if he recorded it or not but I appreciated the tunes. It's the only time I've heard from him too.

Recording Notes:
- Records have some small dimples but not enough to mar sound.
- No superficial marks, or scratches, very clean near mint vinyl.

Editing Notes:
- Records hand cleaned with Record Research Lab Super Record Wash before playback.
- LP cleaned with the HumminGuru Ultrasonic Vinyl Record Cleaning System prior to playback.
- A Zerostat Positive Ion gun was used on LP prior to playback.
- Raw transfer: EQ off, treble and bass levels set at +/- zero for most accurate sound of LP.
- Turntable balanced: Needle Tracking, Azimuth, Pressure & Antiskid Dialed In: Soundcard stereo field maximized: Goldwave set to record while filtering any offset.
- Recording and all editing done in 24bit/96khz.
- Preservation being key the show is encoded complete with commercials and voiceovers.
- Declicked manually, some noise reduction used depending on if it best serves the situation.

Other Notes:
- According to some sources the Sound And Vision Tour was not as pleasurable as David Bowie would have wanted. Seems there was tensions between band members and clashing egos. Keyboardist Rick Fox reportedly would eat his dinner during concerts, on stage at his keyboards.
- There were at least 5 shows from this tour recorded for broadcasts and a proposed video release. Despite this no official recordings have been released from this tour.
- The tour was to put to bed some of David Bowie's catalog that he would no longer be performing live. However a lot of the songs from the tour remained in setlists for the remainder of Bowie's career.
- The Tokyo Concert has been broadcast as: Westwood One Superstar Concert Series #CO90-47, Westwood One Superstar Concert Series #CO91-26, Westwood One Superstar Concert Series #CO91-45, Westwood One Superstar Concert Series #CO92-15, Superstar Concert Series #CO93-51, Westwood One Superstar Concert Series #CO97-26, Westwood One Superstar Concert Series #CO98-46, Westwood One Superstar Concert Series #CO99-23, Westwood One Superstar Concert Series #CO00-12, Westwood One Superstar Concert Series #CO00-49 and Coca-Cola Planet Live! #PL/DB01/01/02. each show has been edited uniquely with different songs, running order and advertising making each a must have for Bowie Collectors.
- A Spread sheet has been included showing the shows and which songs were included.

Rosebud said if we were going to Pay Tribute To some of our lost Heroes we had to pay tribute to one of her favorites, David Bowie. David Bowie passed away January 10, 2016 of liver cancer, he was 69. This show was broadcast both on Television and FM Radio in Santiago. This is from the FM broadcast, both sources have the same tracks, the FM sounds the best to me. Erdal Kizilcay was Bowie's bass player from the early 1980's to 1995 after the recording of Bowie's Outside album. He has continued to write and record music with other musicians. Bowie had Erdal's bass work removed from some of his last recordings before he passed away. Rick Fox went on to make soundtracks for video games. His first was for Iguana Entertainment's "NBA Jam" others are "Aero the Acrobat" & "Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel". I couldn't find anything about what Michael Hodges is doing since being with Bowie's band. Of course Adrian Belew has a very busy career, including King Crimson, and his own Adrian Belew Trio.

Digitized by Draftervoi from the Pre-FM Radio Broadcast Albums. Draftervoi manually de-clicks all of his vinyl encodings with Audacity before encoding the waves to flac, and as always flac files are of waves.

This recording from the Japanese Leg of The Sound & Vision Tour has a different track listing than the other Pre-FM post we have of the same show posted here. There are a few different broadcasts for this concert each having different track lists. In the download Draftervoi has included an Excel file explaining the differences of each broadcast. Always great encodings from Draftervoi.

Another pick from Rosebud's David Bowie collection as we salute some of Rosebud's Favorite Vocalists. It's just one more thing Rosebud and I have in common, our love for Rock & Roll's Ultimate Chameleon David Bowie. The Thin White Duke was able to slither and slink from on music genre to the next with the ease of the small lizard blending into it's surroundings. This recording is a soundboard from the rehearsals for The Sound & Vision Tour.

Another great choice from Rosebud's collection! This Pre-FM recording from David Bowie's Sound & Vision Tour doesn't really hold too many suprises in it's Greatest Hits set. Their is the performance of "Fame" which is done in a Dance Remix kind of style. That being said David is in fine voice and this show should be owned by the casual Bowie fan and fanatic alike. Oh, and Adrian Belew plays guitar on it so hey another bonus!
