Wayne Kramer died February 2, 2024 from pancreatic cancer, he was 75
Look I promised you some great stuff including some rare Master Tapes. This recording from The MC5's guitarist, vocalist, song writer Wayne Kramer I haven't seen anywhere but The Trader's Den. I also have no idea how many Wayne Kramer or MC5 related soundboards are out there but I venture to say they are pretty rare. Especially since Wayne Kramer released a huge box set of MC5 material including all the John Sinclare recorded soundboards.
This recording is so sweet sounding, so damn powerful that you would swear it was a commercially released live album. There is great stereo separation and effects. The power of The Street Walking Cheetahs double bass player line up shines through with out making mud of the mix. The uploader says it was recorded straight to disc. My guess is they used something like a rack mounted VocoPro CDR Recorder (I have one). They record so damn nice and in 24bit as well. The only draw back is the button to make tracks as you record actually stops the recording for 3 seconds. So you lose some of the stuff you were recording. This is what I think caused the cut before "Junkie Romance". The notes do say that the Master Discs were untracked so maybe. This is a Diamond of a Recording Do Not Pass Up This True Testimonial!!
