Bootsy's pedigree runs deep in Funk and Soul with stints in Parliament-Funkadelic, and James Browns band Th JB's. Bootsy and his brother Phelps "Catfish" Collins put together a band called The Pacemakers. After James Brown's band quit en-mass over a pay dispute The Peacemakers were hired to form a new backing band The JB's or the Original JB's as they are sometimes called. In 1972 Bootsy and Catfish were introduced to Funkmaster George Clinton, they quickly joined forces. After a while Bootsy formed Bootsy's Rubber Band with other members of the P-Funk collective.
