I have been on a huge New Wave Of British Heavy Metal kick the past month or so. Tank was one of my favorites. The original line up was 3 guys who love both Heavy Metal  & Punk Rock. Argy Ward was actually in The Damned before forming Tank. The 1st song I heard by Tank was "Run Like Hell". It was on a N.W.O.B.H.M. sampler type album. It had a lot of stuff that wasn't N.W.O.B.H.M. Including Accept (a German Metal Powerhouse) and Hawkwind (Fucking Hawkwind, Metal Give me some headphones, some good smoke and I'm down with the Hawk but Metal? lol). It also had Chrome Molly, Helles Belles & Girlschool to make up for it though. The other one I bought at the same time had Status Quo, Deep Purple & Nazareth on it. It was how ever the album I 1st heard Motörhead on with a live version of "White Line Fever" from 1978. Anyway Download Tank!

The story goes, that after a gig in America, Venom accompanied a group of fans to a party. They of course got very drunk and asked the group if they wanted to hear a demo of the title track to their next album. The fans of course wanted to here what the next LP was going to sound like. So the tape was played, then somehow stolen from the drunken Venom. The album At War With Satan was to be Venom's statement that they could seriously write music. The album was to be a Progressive Rock styled concept album about the war between Satan's Legions & God's Angels. A lot of fans worried that the essence of Venom that we loved would be lost to a Prog-Rock nightmare like Kiss' Music From The Elder. (I love that album too damn it!). The album was pure Venom. White noise and all. Most critics loved it, most fans consider it the last great album of the original line-up. The some what disappointing Possessed would follow, and sounded the death bell of the original line-up (too me it sounded half finished). Line-up changes, law suits and actually some great music would follow.

Parlament-Funkadelic doing what they did in the 1970's. Kicking ass, making booties move to that sweaty groove...(Ok so yes smoking and posting again). We all know by now that Parlament-Funkadelic live, in there hey day was a party like no other. Every time I hear P-Funk I think back to an interview I watched on MTV. It was Kid Rock and the reporter asked him what a Detroit Redneck was. He answered a Detroit Redneck loves Merle Haggard and Parliament-Funkadelic. Guess I been one of those all my life, but he forgot our love for high energy Rock n Roll.
