This show is just beautiful beyond words. The voice of the vibes blends so nicely with the sound of an orchestra proven ever so exquisitely on Gary Burton's release Seven Songs For Quartet And Chamber Orchestra which was also recorded in Hamburg. No worries though, none of this recording was used for that album. I can not forget to mention the guitar work of both Mick Goodrick & Jerry Hahn, drum work of Ted Seibs & Roy Haynes and of course the bass playing of Steve Swallow. Everyone plays exactly for the music, no over playing here. There is an art to knowing when and what to play. When to let a musical passage "breath" and when to make it overcome the senses. Emotional tension and release, all are used to great effect during this all to short half hour of music.

The Black Rock Coalition was formed in the early 1990s to promote unknown Black Rock, Hard Rock and Heavy Metal Bands. The biggest known of the Black Rock Coalition at the time were Living Color, Fishbone and 24-7 Spys. None of those bands are here but I think that was the point. Until I listened to it of those on it I only knew of Eric Gales. I have had this in my collection for years and it is time for me to share it! (I just found it while organising my hard drive) So enjoy!!

This is a great recording, you almost could mistake it for an FM or Soundboard so much respect to the original upoader, thank you for your share. I downloaded it from a blog called ijwthstd. It's a nice blog with many different artists so check it out for another music outlet.
I stumbled upon the music of Amythyst Kiah by way of a download page I use that has both commercial releases and bootlegs. When I read the description of Amythyst Kiah's work I downloaded her debut album. Her music has been called Gothic Folk, Acoustic R & B, or Modern R & B. The description of her voice was that it was comparable to Joan Armatrading. It also recommended Amythyst's music to anyone who love Joan Armatrading's music. That is big freaking shoes to give a new artist. So I downloaded her debut album. It has been in heavy rotation at our house since. Her debut album Wary + Strange really has made a fan of me. I am looking for her 2 independent albums although I hear that it's a completely different style of music. Oh yeah I almost forgot this show was one that she opened for none other than Classic Rock Legends The Who, a very nice gig for someone new to the business.

As far as can tell Bruce Springsteen is not selling this concert. He's released quite a few old shows. This early era show has really good sound and should be in your collection. I really don't know what to say other than, It's Bruce doing that thing he does best Rockin' the house.

Ray Gillan (R.I.P.) (Black Sabbath) lead vocals
Jake E. Lee (Ratt, Ozzy Osbourne) guitar
Greg Chaisson (Surgical Steel) bass
Eric Singer (Black Sabbath) drums, percussion
justdave notes:
The original uploader uploaded each show separately, so I put them together, found the artwork online, now none of us has to pay the ridiculous price copies of this bootleg are going for (and it's not cheep).
This is a nice collection of performances by the "Supergroup" formed by former members of Black Sabbath, KISS and the Ozzy Osbourne Band. Rather ironic actually that another former singer from Black Sabbath would form a band with a former Ozzy Osbourne guitar slinger. Ray Gillan had replaced Glenn Hughes during Black Sabbath's Seventh Star Tour. During the sessions for Eternal Idol Ray and Eric jumped ship. Ray, Eric & Jake added Greg Chaisson and Badlands was formed. This compilation is from the bands tour to promote their first album. The band was still fresh but the harmony was already dying. Eric Singer left before the recording of the second album to join Kiss. Ray Gillan left Badlands before the 3rd album demo sessions. Just 5 years after forming Badlands, Ray Gillan would die from AIDS related causes
Ray Gillan died of A.I.D.S. related complications December 1, 1993, he was 34.
Jake E. Lee went on to play with Wicked Alliance & Red Dragon Cartel
Greg Chaisson went on to play with a few other bands even Red Dragon Cartel but is semi-retired after a bought with cancer.
Eric Singer is now impersonating a very famous cat!

The Traders Den torrent tracker is shutting down. I've been a member for some time and have a pretty good ratio so I'm downloading as much as I can before October 19th. A sad occasion but it will bring a lot more shows to my collection. That in turn brings more to yours. This is one of those recordings, a Pre-FM Ambrosia show how about that. This should help with the it's only Wednesday blues....
