Geezer Butler Band CD 2 tracks 01 & 02:
Geezer Butler - Bass
Carl Sentence - Vocals
Pedro Howse - Guitar
Gary Ferguson - Drums
Jezz Woodroffe - Keyboards

Notes:
- These recordings are taken from the private collection of Cozy Powell.

- This is the complete and ultimate set of Dehumanizer demos, featuring many different versions of songs that appeared on the Dehumanizer album and songs that didn't make the cut.

- The first two tracks of CD 2 are actually from The Geezer Butler Band in the mid '80s featuring Carl Sentence on vocals. They feature early versions of "Master of Insanity" and "Computer God", although "Computer God" doesn't sound anything like what ended up on the Dehumanizer album "Master of Insanity" is very, very similar.

- CD 2 also features "Letters From Earth" with different lyrics and two songs that didn't make the album, "Bad Blood" and "The Next Time".

- CD 3 features a version of "Computer God" that is lyrically nothing like the one on the album but musically the same, also a few instrumental rehearsals of the track, as well as a short conversation between Ronnie and Cozy.

- The only reason Cozy wasn't on the final cut of the album was because soon after these demos he broke his pelvis in a horse riding accident and was unable to play for a short time. Dio wanted to bring Simon Write in (from Dio's last album 'Lock up the Wolves') but Iommi and Butler decided he sounded to AC/DCish and brought back Vinny Appice.

Made up of tracks spread across 3 bootlegs with lots of tracks that Jeff isn't on, or that are not Sabbath. This is the sum total of tracks Fenholt recorded with the Seventh Star line up of Black Sabbath. Fenholt was best known for playing Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar. He commit the ultimate metal sin of recording a disco album called Smile in 1978. Fenholt was a Born Again Christian by the time he hooked up with Sabbath, at the suggestion of Sabbath's manager, Don Arden (Sharon Osbourne's Dad). Fenholt claims he was told he was to be the new singer for Black Sabbath. Iommi contends that Fenholt was "trying out" for his solo project but didn't make it. Members of Sabbath suggest that Fenholt may have been kept in the dark, that the sessions were intended for an Iommi solo LP. Others suggest Fenholt knew the label had no intention of releasing the project under Iommi's name. Fenholt was replaced with Glen Hughes and the sessions became Black Sabbath's Seventh Star LP due to label pressure. Fenholt went on to become a Tel-Evangelist on TBN. The 5 tracks here were re-written repeatedly until the Seventh Star LP was completed.

"Star Of India" became "Seventh Star", "Take My Heart" became "No Stranger To Love", "Eye Of The Storm" became "Turn To Stone", "Love On The Line" became "Heart Like A Wheel" and "Chance On Love" became "Danger Zone".

When this recording surfaced it caused quite a stir in trading circles. Labeled as unknown when it showed up on UTube, fans quickly got to work figuring out where it had come from. After much detective work and discussion it was decided that the show was from Sabbath's appearance at Montreux Casino. The only source for this show, even the Silver CDs you can buy, is the lossy UTube channel. The audio was captured by a fan who converted it to flac and distributed it on the net. The flac as I said is lossy based so I am only posting this in MP3. There is a PDF file included that was distributed with the recording which gives the back story I just told you but in greater detail; than I got into.

This is a great raw soundboard recording early in a young Sabbath's career. The Paranoid LP was new so the title track hadn't yet become the show stopper, instead it was the opening number. Ozzy still uses the "Walpugenacht" lyrics to "War Pigs" and mixes up the early and propper lyrics to "Hand of Doom". But hey it's not Ozzy unless he mixes up some of the lyrics.

This is the complete FM simulcast to the ABC-TV In Concert broadcast of the first California Jam. I have done my best to edit around the commercially released tracks while not taking away from the listening pleasure. If your like me this will take you back in time. I remember watching this on TV with my family. My parents liked Seals & Crofts, and The Eagles but the rest was just a little too much for them. They did like Keith Emerson's keyboard solo and the spinning piano sequence. I remember when Blackmore's amp blew up during "Space Truckin'" my my Dad making a comment that the "..fu##ing idiots almost killed their guitar player trying to be cool!"

this is a large file set so the flac is in 4 parts, the mp3 is divided in 2.

Mogwai are a Scottish band from Glasgow. Formed by Stuart Braithwaite and Dominic Aitchison in 1995, Mogwai has since become one of the most influential and best known names in post-rock.

They compose lengthy instrumental guitar-based pieces in the post-rock tradition, usually focused around the elaboration of a single theme, and are known traditionally for dynamic contrast, melodic bass riffs, and their use of guitar distortion and effects. Stuart Braithwaite has commented on the lack of lyrics within Mogwai's music, saying: “ I think most people are not used to having no lyrics to focus on. Lyrics are a real comfort to some people. I guess they like to sing along and when they can't do that with us they can get a bit upset.”

The band were originally signed to renowned Glasgow indie label Chemikal Underground, but are now distributed by different labels, such as Matador in the US and Play It Again Sam Records in the UK. They have also developed their own label, Rock Action Records, named after Stooges drummer Scott Asheton, who had his name changed to Rock Action.

Their style has been influenced by bands including The Dirty Three, Joy Division, Pink Floyd, The Jesus and Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine, and Post-Rock pioneers Slint. During 2004 the band supported tours by two major influences, Pixies and The Cure. Mogwai's style has easily identifiable connections to genres like Shoegaze, Math Rock, Art Rock, and occasionally Instrumental Metal. While their sound bears little resemblance to traditional Punk Rock, the band seems to identify closely with the punk ethic.

Mogwai is named after the creatures from the film Gremlins, although guitarist Stuart Braithwaite comments that "it has no significant meaning and we always intended on getting a better one, but like a lot of other things we never got 'round to it."

Note On a US mini-tour (around May 2002), the band began to allow DAUD and DAT SBD recordings. Mic stands were allowed, and board patches were granted in Chicago. An official band statement about fan recordings states "We talked about it and are ok with you doing so. The only thing is that if any of the shows end up being sold on e-bay or are turned into bootleg albums. We don't mind people swopping recordings but do mind other people profiting from our music".

A nice recording from an in studio appearance on WTMX-FM Chicago. Just Tori and her piano, interview and 4 songs performed for an audience that had to answer questions about Tori to win a chance to see the show. Sounds like a very intimate room and Tori is in fine voice for someone who has been up all night on a tour bus. 2 of the 4 songs played are non-album B-sides to singles.

This is a great but short gig by Primus alter ego Bob Cock & The Yellow Sock. Only from the warped twisted mind that is Les Claypool!

Bob Cock is played by Adam Gates who is a close friend and roadie of the band Primus. Adam often appeared as Bob Cock on stage with Primus in different costumes. A spin off band was formed called Bob Cock & The Yellow Sock with Gates handling the vocals. Bob Cock sometimes wouldn't show up to the gigs, allegedly due to his party life style.

In the late 90's the Bob Cock character was "killed off" by Gates, the death supposedly from a rumored cocaine overdose and a bizarre gerbilling accident in Mexico. The character was later revived at a recent annual Primus New Years Eve Freak Out. The reappearance of Bob Cock was explained by saying he had faked his own death.

On the DVD that comes with the Animals Should Not Try To Act Like People EP there is a hidden portion that shows Bob Cock in heaven doing drugs with Jesus in front of a Britney Spears calender.

This is a nice sounding recording from Live's appearance at the annual German outdoor festival. The guitars are a little low in the mix, bringing Michael "Railo" Railton's keyboard work to the forefront. It gives the songs a slightly different feel but does not ruin the listening experience. Adam Duritz of Counting Crows joins in on vocals for "Lightning Crashes". The extended jam in "I Alone" was credited as a Dr Dre cover but since Dr Dre actually took it from a Parliament/Funkadelic song I change the tagging to give the Funkmaster George Clinton his due credit.

justdave notes: I bought this 2 record pre-fm vinyl set at the same time I bought the 1983 Chicago set I posted earlier, the DJ cue sheet was missing for this set as well. Each disc was treated with Pfan-Stat No. SA-14, and the Discwasher Zerostat Positive Ion Gun prior to play. They where played on a Sony PS-LX300H turntable to a Sony RCD-W500C CD Recorder using the Super Bit Mapping function. The resulting CD-R was ripped with Exact Audio Copy. The waves were imported to Goldwave V.5.04 for pop/click fix, track seperaton, and fade in out as needed.I only use  1 passive run of Goldwaves pop/click fix, since agressive noise reduction can impare sound quality.  The waves were then converted to flac level 8 with Traders Little Helper aligning all sector boundaries.

I removed all the commercials, so there are fades between tracks 4 & 5, 7 & 8 and 10 & 11. Track 15 is a pre show promo. I also included a scan of record one side one. The band line up is a best guess for this time period, after checking on-line sources.

original uploader notes:
I bought this 3 disc LP boxed set (and a few other syndicated radio show discs) at a flea market a few years ago and am just getting around to digitizing them. It's in relatively good shape except for side 2 "Once In a Lifetime" which is a bit scuffed up. Apparently Westwood One reshuffled the Talking Heads setlist to suit their needs - I used the track order as they appear on the records. "The Big Business / I Zimbra" medley seems to be a creation of Westwood One as well. The discs included radio spots and DJ announcements which I have edited out.
