I ripped the waves with DVD Audio Extractor. I then used Goldwave to smooth out some volume issues and smooth out some of the song transitions. No EQ or noise reduction was used. The waves were nencoded to MP3 320kbps because the DVD had lossy audio.

Nice compilation recording, you get some Classic Hard Rock (Black Country Communion, Thin Lizzy) , Stoner Rock (Kyuss Lives!, Queens Of The Stone Age) , Rockabilly (Brian Setzer), Punkabilly (Reverend Horton Heat), Alternative Rock (Paul Weller, Bright Eyes, The Avett Brothers, Band Of Horses) , and Primus (who are a genre unto themselves!)

The disc label says "For broadcast on August 13, 1983."

The number 83-7 is not on the disc label, but scratched into the run-out vinyl on both sides of each disc as SSCS 83-7.

The summer of 1983 was the premier of Westwood One's Superstars In Concert Series, with eleven shows starting on July 2nd. "Every weekend through Labor Day a radio station in your area will be presenting one of Rock’s biggest performing acts in concert."  Print ads indicate that "over 400 stations" had signed on for to air the shows.

The series returned with monthly shows from January through May, and then ran weekly from June through August, and then twice a week from September through December.
