This is a great show from a band that never attained the heights it should have. King's X was a hard band to market. All three members sang lead, giving the band a vocal sound that set them apart from their Hard Rock peers. The band also had a spiritual element to their lyrics that would label them as a Christian Rock band, although the band resisted this classification. The band scored some publicity from Slayer's Tom Araya when he stated in an interview that King's X was his favorite band to listen to on Slayer's tour bus. This brought the band to the attention of the Heavy Metal Underground, and a very loyal underground following.

If you have never heard King's X think Classic Hard Rock Power Trio with at vocal harmonies that would make The Beatles proud. This show would also serve as a great introduction to King's X if you are new to them.

Made fro the Pre-FM vinyl record set for Westwood One Superstar Concert Series #SS84-5. This recording has a slightly different set list than the Pre-FM recording here. That recording comes from Draftervoi and made from the Pre-FM vinyl of Westwood One Superstar Concert Series #PAN84-2. I personally want both recordings as I am a completist when it comes to collecting boots.
