I have been a Metal Head since I can remember knowing what Heavy Metal was. When the Heavy Metal Takeover happened in the 1980's I was ecstatic. So much Metal, so little time. I loved the underground music. I knew of bands like Metallica, Slayer, Venom and Motley Crue before most people I knew. Dark Angel was one of many bands I read about in the underground Metal magazines. The reviewer tore their 1st album apart, said it was the worst shit he heard, so I bought it. He said the same thing about Hellhammer's album, and I loved it. I caught these guys a few times live at Blondie's Bar. A Heavy Metal hole in the wall that I hung out at a lot because I played there a lot (too many times). They were awesome, very tight. This recording catches them on tour for their 4th and final studio album Time Does Not Heal. The band would break up while demoing material for their 5th album. The only member of the band to achieve continued success in the Music Business is drummer Gene Hoglan. Hoglan has gone on to play with many Heavy Metal bands including, Death, Testament, Old Man's Child, Fear Factory, Strapping Young Lad/Deven Townsend Band and has substituted on tour for Charlie Benante of Anthrax and Martin Mendez from Opeth.
