Known Faults:
- Westwood One packs over 50 minutes of music and commercials on one Live From Gilley's LP.
- That makes for tighter grooves, making it harder to fight needle damage noise.
- Cue sheet was not included with purchase, found a small copy on the internet.
Recording Notes:
- There was no show promo on this album
- Live from Gilley's theme song is not used for this broadcast.
- Jim Duncan's intro is over the first few seconds of "Love Pouring Out Of Me".
- Jim Duncan's show wrap up is done over The Charlie Daniels Band's performance of "Orange Blossom Special"
Editing Notes:
- A Zerostat Positive Ion gun was used on LP prior to playback.
- A carbon fiber record brush, then a felt disc cleaner was used on the record prior to playback.
- Records hand cleaned with Record Research Lab Super Record Wash before playback.
- LP cleaned with the HumminGuru Ultrasonic Vinyl Record Cleaning System prior to playback.
- Raw transfer: EQ off, treble and bass levels set at +/- zero for most accurate sound of LP.
- Turntable balanced: Needle Tracking, Azimuth, Pressure & Antiskid Dialed In: Soundcard stereo field maximized: Goldwave always set to record while filtering any offset.
- Recording and all editing done in 24bit/96khz.
- Preservation being key the show is encoded complete with commercials and voiceovers.
- Declicked manually and some noise reduction used depending on what best served situation.
Other Notes:
- Charlie Daniels was a highly sought session player before he finally reached his career high in the late 1970s to the mid 1980s playing fiddle on a lot of Capricorn Records Artist's recoords.
- Charlie Daniels played fiddle on Hank Williams Jr's cover of Marshall Tucker's "Losin' You", "Stoned At The Jukebox" and "Family Tradition".
- Charlie Daniels also played fiddle on a few of The Marshall Tucker Band's albums including the live & studio tracks on the double album Where We All Belong. He also played on the Marshall Tucker albums: Carolina Dreams, Searchin' For A Rainbow, and A New Life.
- Charley also played fiddle on a recording by Elvis Presley (on a song Charlie Daniels wrote). Also recordings by Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Ringo Star and produced the Youngbloods album Elephant Mountain.
- Charlie Daniels even played on Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen's tour together in 1971.
- After Charley Daniels became a Born Again Christian he changed the "Long Haired Country Boy" lyrics from "I get stoned in the mornin'/Get drunk in the after noon" to "I get up in the mornin'/Get down in the afternoon". He also removed Hippy Culture references from his songs including changing the Peace sign in the rear window of his car in "Uneasy Rider" to a gun rack.
