Great sounding mini disc soundboard recording from Black Sabbath's 1999 Doomsday Reunion Tour. This one is from the summer Ozzfest leg of the American Tour. Rosebud and I saw Black Sabbath 4 times in 1999. They played The Palace of Auburn Hills twice in February with Pantera, then twice at Pine Knob Amphitheater for Ozzfest.We were at the first Auburn Hills show when I proposed marriage to Rosebud. We were married in June and went to Ozzfest both days for our honeymoon. No lie! We would go every year after that for our anniversary (we attended every Michigan Ozzfest show from the very first to the last ever actually)

A benefit concert set up by Don Henley of the Eagles to raise money for his Waldon Woods Foundation which fights to preserve historic locations. The foundation was formed to preserve Waldon Woods which belonged to Henry David Thoreau, but has expanded to save other important historic locations.

A nice soundboard recording from Anthrax's tour to promote their latest E.P. Anthems. Anthems consists of 6 cover tracks from some of Anthrax's favorite bands. Included in the set is the bands cover of AC/DC's "T.N.T." and Joe Jackson's "Got The Time" which the band recorded in 1990 for Persistence Of Time. The band also pulls out "Deathrider" from their first LP Fistful Of Metal, when Neil Turbin fronted the band.

A nice sounding recording of an awesome performance. This is a band that truly loves making music together and it shows in every note. Chad Smith was busy with the Red Hot Chili Peppers so Kenny Aronoff of John Cougar Mellencamp's band is filling in. His pounding style fits like a glove. The guys include a cover of Jimi Hendrix's "Foxy Lady" in the set of Chickenfoot originals. The band of course was touring to promote their second album Chickenfoot III. On an episode of That Metal Show Sammy Hagar stated that to avoid the second album slump they didn't release a second album and went straight to the third.

A great show from Chris Hillman's Country Rock group The Desert Rose Band. After Chris was done with the Flying Burrito Brothers he formed the Desert Rose Band with a bunch of California session musicians. The bands music is akin to the Bakersfield Sound filtered through the California Sound. I personally recommend this recording to everyone who is a fan of Country Music or the work of Chris Hillman.

As the Budweiser Concert Hour was broadcast twice a month in 1982, the original broadcast date is likely in the Spring of 1982.
Bar-Kays recorded at the Celebrity Theatre, Phoenix, AZ
No year listed, but they yell “1979” at the start of "Holy Ghost." (that was the year "Holy Ghost" hit the charts the song "Body Fever" is introduced as from the new album so I figure this is from the As One albu promo tour: justdave)
No venue is announced for The Time, but they talk to "Los Angeles" and "L.A." several times during the show.

All of the songs from The Time's set are drawn from their first album, "The Time" which was essentially a Prince album with Morris Day on lead vocals.  The group did not actually play on their debut album, so this is a chance to here them do 2/3rds of that album live.

I received this as a CD-r. After I ripped the waves with EAC I did a lossy test with Traders Little Helper and it came back as MPEG with a 95% possibility so I encoded it to MP3 320kbps. This nice sounding recording comes from the tour to promote the Modern Times album. This was the first release to feature a returning Grace Slick. Grace had been asked by Paul Kantner to leave the group after the bands disastrous 1978 Germany concerts. Marty Balin had also left in 1978 so Mickey Thomas of the Elvin Bishop band was recruited for Freedom At Point Zero. Grace Slick returned at the end of the Modern Times recording sessions adding background vocals to 3 tracks and lead vocals to the single "Stranger". I'm pretty sure I downloaded this from the old Hear Rock City blog so thanks go out to them!
