This is one of the most complete soundboards from this era of Frank Marino that I have. It is missing very little of the music performed that night. Most of the soundboards from this era miss the beginning of the show and cut off before the end. Although it is not marked so, my guess is that it came from Luciferburns at The Trader's Den. The majority of quality Frank Marino shows come from his collection.

justdave's notes:
I ripped the waves with DVD Audio Extractor. I then used Goldwave to raise the volume, index tracks, and add fade in/fade out where necessary.  The DVD had lossy audio so the waves were encoded to MP3 320kbps using Trader's Little Helper. The audio does have an audible amp hum in between songs. Since it isn't heard during the performance I did not attempt to remove it.

This is a fabulous show, and a great addition to any Collector's shelves. Frank Marino was going to tour in 2020 but was cancelled due to covid-19. In 2021 his tour was rescheduled only to be cancelled again. gThis time due to Frank suffering from an ailment he said was a career ending. Turns out Frank is battling chronic pain in his shoulder and can not play his guitar at all. Very saddening news indeed. Hopefully a good doctor can get it under control for him.

Another great Frank Marino performance. It's a dry soundboard so some levels can be little off because each "house" has a different sound so needs a different mix. Some places need more bass some more guitar etc. This is a great listen and Frank is, as usual in fine form. There are 14 other Frank Marino shows available on the site here.

The Flac is a large file set so the CD's have been uploaded separately.

justdave's notes:
I compiled this from different bootlegs in my collection. Quite a few bands have covered Jimi Hendix songs over the years. My choices are not meant to represent the best of these cover versions just ones that I like. The surprises out of the recordings showcased here would have to be Concrete Blonde's version of "Castles Made Of Sand" or Earth, Wind & Fire's cover of "Machine Gun". Some sources were lossy and some were not so I encoded everything to MP3 320kbps. All recordings were of soundboard quality (ie Pre-FM, FM & Soundboard). I tried to adjust the volume of the tracks so they were more uniform using Goldwave.

Hope you enjoy it, I have a couple similar projects in the works.

This came to me labeled as a soundboard from Los Angeles xx-xx-1983. After comparing this with other Frank Marino boots I have come to the conclusion that it is actually a Westwood One broadcast from Sanrta Monica Civic Auditorium, Santa Monica, California January 27, 1983. This version has a couple more tracks than the other I have. "Purple Haze", "Johnny B. Goode", and a small piece of "Talkin''Bout A Feelin'".

A very rare soundboard recording from 1991, although incomplete, a very fine addition to anyone's Frank Marino collection. Rosebud & I are big fans of Frank Marino and have seen Mahogany Rush a few times together. Rosebud's first Frank Marino show was at The Magic Bag in Ferndale Michigan 2002 (high quality audience recording available on this blog) As of this post there are 10 Frank Marino Bootlegs available on owr site, with more to come in the future.

This is a must have for all Frank Marino collectors. This recording is nearly 3 hours long and represents what was actually a 5 hour long in studio jam session. We get to hear Frank and company throw down some great variations on some of his early tracks and some awesome Jimi Hendrix covers. Some jams push into the 20 minute mark as the band really enjoys themselves. The recording does show some age but is still an enjoyable listen.

This is a rather large file set so I have divided the files to make shorter download times.

There really isn't cover art for this version of this classic Marino show. It is however the same show that was the source of the bootleg Return Of The Big Two, so I have included that cover art for you. This is a great performance so don't miss out on this one.

This is a great performance by Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush. The most common source of this show cuts off toward the end of "SSsshhh". With this one you get the whole track, and the rest of the broadcast too! The night this show was recorded Robin Trower was also playing. The shows were supposed to air the same night but Robin refused to play on the radio the same night as Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush, so Frank's set was held back till the next night.
The only cover art available is for the s song version. I have included it for those who like to have art for their boots. Robin Trowers set from he night can be downloaded here.

These are raw soundboard recordings, there may be drop outs, volume fluctuations, or other sound hiccups. Each show is individually uploaded so you can download the ones you want and/or need to complete your collections. Lossless options are available for some but I do not have all of them in flac so some are just MP3.
Each download includes a bunch of extras. Including a pdf of the original concert program, a pdf of some Cal Jam2 bumper stickers, a pdf of some local news paper articles, and a ticket scan.

You may be interested to know that the 3 Aerosmith tracks on the Cal Jam II LP were not actually recorded at Cal Jam II and are the same versions from Live Bootleg. The actual dates are as follows:

-Draw The Line is from the 26/3/78 Upper Darby show
-Same Old Song And Dance is from the 24/3/78 Columbus show
-Chip Away The Stone is supposedly from 8/4/78 Santa Monica show

Rubicon's set has never turned up in trading circles.

Another nice sounding recording from Frank & Company. This one is way too short but that is the only real complaint. Frank is always a fabulous live performer, if you have a chance to see him live I advise you do it. I have seen him many times and have never heard him play a song the same way live twice. Always jamming on the theme, songs can be extended to as long as 30 minutes, and seem to end too soon at that!

A great set from Frank & Co. This is the third Marino show on this blog I've never heard a bad performance from the man. Last time I seen him the show was around 3 hours long, no opening act just Frank, no set break just 3 hours of guitar heaven. I first Frank live on the CalJam 2 broadcast and have been hooked every since. There will be more Frank posts to come in the future.

The second of our special Veteran's Day posts is an offering from Frank Marino & Mahagony Rush. This very good to excellent sounding audience recording has a 10 minute version of Frank's tribute to those who served "Stories Of A Hero". A very passionate lyric made even more poignant by Frank's guitar work. This recording is very special to both Me & my wife, we were in the audience for this one. It was my Rosebud's first time seeing Frank Marino and she was completely blown away. We arrived about 5 minutes before Frank went on and the place was packed. The only place to go was right in front of the stage where there was tight standing room. We spent the entire show standing right in front of Frank. I downloaded this from The Traders Den it was shared by Luciferburns the show was recorded by Paganini so props and thank yous to them.
