- As always a big Thank You to my partners in The Collective Of Live Music for the help and inspiration.

Known Faults:
- When I initially "auditioned" the albums the grooves on side one were so dirty the needle just slid across the LP like the anti-skid was off. After the cleaning ritual I go through for each album, the set played and looked near mint.
- The only bad point was 2 spots during Segment 2 where the album skipped. See editing notes.
- 2 very small scratches on Side 2 Segment 2, very easy to over look, caused the above problem.

Recording Notes:
- There is a locked groove show promo at the end of Side 4, which has been encoded.
- Show is hosted but the host never identifies himself.

Editing Notes:
- A Zerostat Positive Ion gun was used on LP prior to playback.
- A carbon fiber record brush, then a felt disc cleaner was used on the record prior to playback.
- Records hand cleaned with Record Research Lab Super Record Wash before playback.
- LP cleaned with the HumminGuru Ultrasonic Vinyl Record Cleaning System prior to playback.
- Raw transfer: EQ off, treble and bass levels set at +/- zero for most accurate sound of LP.
- Turntable balanced: Needle Tracking, Azimuth, Pressure & Antiskid Dialed In: Soundcard stereo field maximized: Goldwave always set to record while filtering any offset.
- Recording and all editing done in 24bit/96khz.
- Preservation being key the show is encoded complete with commercials and voiceovers.
- Both manually de-clicked and some Pop Fix used depending on what got the best result, although not a lot of clicks and pops needed fixing since this was on of the best vinyls I have encoded in a while.
- There was 2 spots during Segment 2 where the album skipped. One during "Dark Star" and one during "Barrel Of Pain". I had to re-record Segment 2 again. To get the segment to not skip I had to adjust my anti-skid pressure on the fly. To 2.5 during "Dark Star" then back to 1.5 during "Barrel Of Pain". It took about 5 or 6 tries to get it right and to not make a bump noise with my hand when touching the turntable.

Other Notes:
- Westwood One also released this concert under there Westwood One Concerts & Specials "Pop Concert Series". I have that album somewhere but can not locate it to re-encode or get the show number of it. I do have an encoding with the commercials and voice overs edited out.
- The 2 releases were almost identicle except for the commercials, none of the song edits are different and the running order is the same.
- Show identified as Universal Amphitheatre, Los Angeles, California, November 28, 1982 by comparing the Mike Millard audience recording of the show. Song introductions and performances match.
- Both "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" and "You Don't Have To Cry" were written by Stephen Stills for his then girlfriend singer Judy Collins. Both were written about their relationship ending.
- "Dark Star" was written by Stephen Stills for Joan Baez, with whom Stills was having an affair.
- George "Chocolate" Perry and Joe Vitale are known for also being long serving members of Joe Walsh's recording and touring bands.
- Westwood One was only a little creative about the set list. The full set from Universal Amphitheatre, Los Angeles, California, November 28, 1982 is listed below:

Dan Lampinski is as well known to bootleg collectors as Mike Millard for his quality audience recordings. This one such recording from the short lived Stills-Young Band and tour. Hoping for the musical and monetary success of the Crosby-Nash album and tour, Stills-Young didn't really get what they wanted. According to lots of sources including Neil Young, Stephen Stills was not happy on the tour, and it kept getting worse. Neil Young was getting more of the favorable press and response from the audience. The more Stephen Stills paid attention to it the more he got depressed and drank. This became a vicious circle that built to a point where Neil Young left the tour.

In the recording you can hear Still's voice is a little road raw. You can also hear some audience members that favor Young over Stills. You also get to hear Neil Young tell the audience to quiet down during the acoustic set. This shuts up the cat call guy sitting close to our dear taper thankfully. He's the reason it's only a Very Good Audience Recording instead of Lampinski's normal Excellent Audience rating...Oh and the rhythm section is Joe Walsh's solo rhythm section...just had to point it out.

The flac set is 24bit and is 3.2GB but don't worry I the average speed I got as a free user was 8MB per second...so enjoy!

This one is to help everyone to get over the hump today. The weekend is almost here so lets Rock! This is a great recording and the band sounds like they are really enjoying making music together. The audience sounds like they are really enjoying it too. They don't get in the way much but are present in the mix. It's a Millard recording of Stephen Stills and guest Bonnie Bramlett a name that should be a whole lot more well known in Classic Rock than it is. One of the most under rated vocalists of the 1970s along with Marcy "Marcella Detroit" Levey. Both ladies had more Soul in their voice than a church choir. Enjoy my friends!!

What can be said about David Crosby that hasn't been said. Successful with The Bird, with Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (and all the mini groupings within that very group of musicians). David Crosby is easily one of the most influential singer/songwriters to emerge from the ending of the 1960s.

The 1st time I saw David Crosby live was with Crosby, Stills, & Nash. It was the opening of the Palace of Auburn Hills, Michigan. The show was sponsored by the Detroit Classic Rock Station WCSX-99.8 FM. The tickets were actually $.99 American but you had to pick them up at the radio station and could only get 2 at a time. The other band to be one of the 1st to play The Palace was Pink Floyd sponsored by WRIF-101.1 FM. Those tickets were $1.01 American with the same rules. My friends and I (about 20 in all) went to each of these shows. My biggest memory of the C.S.N show was when David Crosby was 1st shown on the big Palace screen someone yelled out "It's Grandpa Jones" to which Graham Nash answers "And He's a pickin' and a grinnin'!" (People who gets this joke just gave away their age...LOL!!)
