JustDave's Notes:
- A big Thank You to Sam Elliot's Mustache for sending in his vinyl for encoding.
- Also Thank You to The Collective of Live Music, our work has only begun!

Recording Notes:
- There is a locked groove "Ovu" Test Tone for DJ's to set levels before broadcasting the show at the beginning of Side A. It has been encoded and placed in a folder so that it is not played accidentally.
- There are 2 locked groove music Promo Beds at the end of Side C with Dave Edmunds music. One with a Bill Minkin voiceover one with out they have been encoded as well.

Editing Notes:
- A Zerostat Positive Ion gun was used on LPs prior to playback.
- A carbon fiber record brush, then a microfiber disc cleaner was used on the records prior to playback.
- Records hand cleaned with Record Research Lab Super Record Wash before playback.
- LP cleaned with the HumminGuru Ultrasonic Vinyl Record Cleaning System using distilled water prior to playback.
- Raw transfer: EQ off, treble and bass levels set at +/- zero for most accurate sound of LP.
- Turntable & tone arm balanced: Needle Tracking & Azimuth set: Needle Pressure & Antiskid digitaly set:
- Computer Soundcard stereo field maximized.
- Goldwave set to record while filtering any DC Offset.
- Recording and all editing done in 24bit/96khz.
- Preservation being key the show is encoded complete with commercials and voiceovers.
- Declicked manually and some noise reduction used depending on what best served the situation.
- Raised the volume of the commercials to match that of the music and voice overs.
- A rumble filter with an initial cut off of 50khz and a static steepness of 2 was used to lessen the needle noise on the commercials due to having to raise the volume to match that of the music and voice overs.

Other Notes:
- The web site John Scher's Capitol Theatre Concerts 1971-1984 at: https://www.moyssi.com/capitolshows.htm gives the date of May 15, 1982 for Dave Edmunds with NRBQ & Marshall Crenshaw. Other sites give the same date. Dave asks the crowd if they liked NRBQ before playing a cover of NRBQ's "Me And The Boys.
- The Dave Edmunds show was also filmed for MTV and released as a live album and home video.
- 10 songs from Dwight Twilley's set were released on an unofficial live album called The Rain, The Park And Twilley which also has album tracks, B-sides and some unreleased stuff. This one should keep everybody entertained through their hump day.

This recording is huge on a few levels. Just in shear size of the file set, the length of the show, the STAR POWER! I mean it runs from 7:30 PM to 4:55 AM with headline length sets from The Allman Brothers, Southside Johnny, and Dave Edmunds. With the rest of the performers playing opening act length sets (around a half hour each). From comments made by one of the DJs it comes out part of the show length was due to The Allmans insisting on using their own soundman and equipment. The rest of the bands used the promoters rented equipment and the house soundman.

The show starts off with a great set by The Edgar Winter Group followed by a blistering 2 hour set from The Allman Brothers Band. At the end of the show one of the DJs comment that Steve Forbert just showed up at the theater so they gave him an acoustic guitar then threw him on stage (he sounds like he's enjoying it) as the roadies changed the stage equipment (He got the Richie Havens treatment...Richie wasn't scheduled at Woodstock). His nice Folkie set settles the crowd down to only be lit on fire again by Gary "US" Bonds. Gary "US" Bonds, who Rocked the 1950s with his #1 Hit "Quarter to Three", made his come back in the 1980s after Steven Van Zandt & Bruce Springsteen produced 2 LPs for the Legend. Bruce even wrote a Top 10 Single for his hero and inspiration called "This Little Girl". This fan thought it was a perfect fit (like Patti Smith singing "Because The Night"). Dave Edmunds must of been in Heaven sharing a stage with Gary "US" Bonds. His brand of Rock & Roll just drips with 1950s influences. Jack Bruce is one of my musical heroes. Cream's Disraeli Gears & Wheels of Fire were huge influences on me wanting to play Heavy Music. "Sunshine of Your Love" was one of the songs I sang to audition for my first professional band (paying gigs and all!). Jack kicks ass here playing his Classic R & B/Jazz/Blues Rock that made him the Rock Icon his is! Finish that night off with an hour of Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes high powered horn driven, dance floor filling Rhythm & Blues. Now try dragging yourself home at 5:00 AM after all that Rock & Roll!!

This set is HUGE so it has been divided into sections to make downloading a little easier. All parts can open separately. They are inter changeable too, so you can down load one of each at a time.

For those who already downloaded the show I have uploaded the news articles by themselves

All right here's an BBC Live recordings (at least I haven't seen it on any blogs myself). This one from the British group Love Sculpture. Before there was Rockpile there was Love Sculpture. Dave Edmunds formed Love Sculpture in 1966. The members of Love Sculpture would feature in future Edmunds recordings. Terry Williams of course would play in Rockpile (as well as Dire Straits). John David and Mickey Gee would play on a lot of Dave Edmunds sessions and some of Nick Lowe's. The music of Love Sculpture is just what you would expect from Dave Edmunds, Blues Boogie Rock & Roll. Every fan of Dave's should add this recording to their collection! The band did at least 3 Peel Sessions. These recordings are from those sessions so the sound is real nice. I really don't understand why this band didn't sell that many records.

This collection of BBC recordings is available at Amazon but it is not an official recording. I downloaded this from a chat box on a blog I follow. The blog specializes in hard to find pressings of some hard to find artists. They have both of Love Scuplture's studio LPs hosted for download. It's called Rockasteria and they have a chat box where followers can post links to share as well. I recommend checking them out. I have joined their chat group to share my music collection as well. There is a sister site called Plain and Fancy which is great too.

As promised we have another great Pre-FM show encoded by our friend Draftervoi. He posts shows at the Voodoo Wagon site. By the way if you do not visit Voodoo Wagon regularly you are missing out on some awesome stuff (check them out at the link to the left). As usual after encoding the waves from the original vinyl he de-clicked them manually in Audacity, one click at a time. This encoding sounds great and should be an upgrade to any version of this show one might have.
