The first of today's Sunday Morning Jazz offerings is a huge one with something for every Jazz fan. A celebration of the many phases of Miles Davis' career.

This marathon tribute concert lasted over 12 hours. This 8 CD set contains every performance from the show with out all the breaks in between resulting in over 9 hours of performances.

It's been remastered by Emperor Nobody so Thank You to him and to the original tape and uploader. The FLAC file set is HUGE! The MP3 file set is overly large. Because of this I have separated the files into smaller downloads. Each zip file should open by itself. The box set is 8 CDs: The FLAC is divided into 4 Downloads, 2 CDs each. The MP3 is divided into 2 Downloads 4CDS each

Number 2 of this weeks Sunday Morning Jazz offerings comes from 2 players who are no strangers to The New JDP. Both have been featured with their own groups, this time Joe Lovano & Dave Douglas join forces to bring you an hour and a half of some great Jazz, that's not quite as experimental as one might expect from these two. I will be making a big error if I do not mention the awesome bass playing of Linda May Han Oh Awesome stuff and a must have for all my fellow Jazz fans.

So this post is a re-post and upgrade to this post here. In the original post the the recording was 1 long file and it was MP3 vbr (variable rate). This post is lossless and has also been remastered by TomP. The work was pretty extensive, the result is fabulous. If you downloaded the original you need this upgrade!

Now if you haven't heard Charlie Haden's Liberation Music Orchestra this is the best introduction to the band I could think of. Charlie Haden formed the big band to bring Jazz into the world of protest music. Now it is an instrumental group but the music & titles are supposed to represent the idea. It is some great music and just look at that roster! I mean Dewey Redman, Joe Lovano, Paul Motian, it's really a who's who of brass as well! Look bottom line is that is really some great music!

I have broken up this large file set into 4 zip files. CD's 1 & 2, CD's 3 & 4 etc. Each zip file will open separately because I found some visitors were having problems with the multi-part zip files.

The Soundprints Quintet is a fantastic group of musicians that put on one hell of a performance. Just to let you know bass player Linda May Han Oh will be featured soon on this blog leading her own band featuring another fave of this blog Chris Potter.

This is another fine sounding show I downloaded from Live Jazz Lounge, can't say it enough, if  you like Jazz visit that site.

This is 2 great sax players paying tribute to one of the greatest of all time. The sound is excellent, I wish I had the flac to share with you, sadly I don't. All Jazz Fans should have this in their collection!

The set list is as follows:
