I ripped the audio with DVD Audio Extractor. I then used Goldwave to re-edit some track marks and to double the volume. No EG or noise reduction used. No remixing or remastering done. The waves were lossy so using Traders Little Helper I encoded them to MP3 320kbps.

I am a Stanley Clarke fanatic, love his playing. He's the kind of bass player that makes others lay down their instrument and bow. Just to watch him play is amazing. The way he holds his hand looks like he's making duck shadow puppets not playing bass. The most amazing sounds come from that duck shadow puppet plucking hand. When you have Mother Pluckers like Victor Wooten, Marcus Miller, Les Claypool, Flea, and Bootsy Collins calling you an influence, you are good at what you do. Anyway I digress a lot. Combine the Legendary Stanley Clarke with the very talented, criminally underrated drummer from The Police Stewart Copeland with 2 young highly talented young players, what do you get? A hell of a concert that's what! A lot of Rockers want to try playing Jazz. A lot of them do try it. A lot of them suck at it. The 3 members of The Police have all stretched out in Jazz. All 3 of them, according to the shows I possess, have done it very well. Sure it's Stanley Clarke playing another solo in the middle of "No Mystery". Every other performance on this tape is just as good!

Keith Jarrett solo on the piano in front of a live audience. I love listening to that. Keith Jarrett had 2 strokes in 2018. One in February then another in May. Since recovering Keith can only play piano with one hand. His left side of his body is partially paralyzed. For those who never caught Keith Jarrett live there is thankfully some very nice recordings to at least hear him live.

It's been a little while since we posted any Country Music and it just so happens I had a taste for some Outlaw Country last night. Around the time of this recording Hank Williams Jr.'s star was burning as bright as the end of a home grown roll in the country moonlight. Hank was crossing over into the mainstream quite a lot because Southern Rock was huge on Album Rock Radio stations. Before I retired I had this young redneck kid working for me that I really liked (and I say redneck having a family that came from Kentucky to Detroit for Auto assembly work so no hate). His parents named him Sawyer as in Tom Sawyer. He hated it. With no middle name to go by he started calling himself Bubba (truth!). He couldn't understand that Charlie Daniels, Marshall Tucker, Pure Prarie League, and Hank Williams Jr wasn't played on Country Radio. The same way others his age can't imagine why they would be played on Rock Radio. So anyway here is a great look at Bocephus when even my Grandmother knew who he was.

Like everyone else, there are some bands that I only like certain periods of. Some bands go through a lot of style shifts in there career. At these times some long time fans leave the circle of appreciation as new ones enter. It happens, as I said, to me too. I have appreciation for early and late Rolling Stones  but my only CD purchases when upgrading my collection was The Mick Taylor era. I was a Metallica fan from the demo days. The last Metallica CD I bought was Master Of Puppets. I was gifted And Justice For All, which I like but that doesn't count as the last of theirs I bought. I have the Remaster Box Sets, but I don't listen to any Geneses after Abacab. I don't own a Rainbow album after Down To Earth, or a Ted Nugent album after State Of Shock. I gave up on Rod Stewart when Blondes Have More Fun came out. U2 I discovered on an early tour of America when they played Harpo's Theater in Detroit. I hung out there a lot because I was in a Metal band and Harpo's was a Metal/Rock bar. When U2 played I went, it was cheap. I loved it, I went to a Harmony House the next day to buy some U2. I think it was Boy, it was a hell of an album. I did not buy Achtung Baby, my last U2 album was Rattle And Hum.

This is over 2 hours of Rattle And Hum era live U2. U2 are joined on stage buy the Legendary B.B. King (R.I.P.) and his orchestra. Can't miss with this CD which is a compilation of a 3 day run of shows in Dublin, Ireland. It doesn't get much better.

Rosebud & I share a great love for all things Motown. We've seen The Temptations with The Four Tops many times together. When our ticket agent (yep I had a ticket agent on call then) called and said that we could get some Stevie Wonder tickets before the public sale we said hell yes. I called my buddy Snot (his nickname lol) to ask if him and his then wife would like to go. They said yes, I told them I can get hill tickets for 75 US dollars (he was playing Pine Knob Amphitheater). They agreed so I purchased the tickets. The night of the show Rosebud was ill, but she told me to go without her. Stevie Wonder tickets are hard to get. In the Detroit area they sell faster than a 1 penny rock of crack to Tyrone Biggums. I went to grab Snot and his wife before the show. They wanted to follow me because they hadn't been to Pine Knob before. Snot's wife had on a mini skirt and spiked heals. I reminded Snot we had lawn tickets and his wife snapped. She wasn't going to sit on the hill for 75 dollars. I told her she could use the tickets for trade in value at the box office for better seats if any were available. I then told her pavilion seats started at 250 dollars. I also said if you don't use the tickets you're still paying me for them. They went and my God it sucked having her complain about everything. The distance to the bar. Her heals digging int the dirt. Sitting in the grass with a skirt. The mosquitoes were biting her legs. Finally Snot said he was taking her home, 5 songs into Stevie's set no less. They left, there had been this couple in front of us smoking weed and enjoying the night. After Snot and his wife were gone the woman turns to me, hands me a fat joint and said "I thought that bitch would never leave". So Rosebud's Tribute To Her Favorite Singers continues with Stevie Wonder.

Rosebud & I first saw Disturbed live during their first time on the Ozzfest Tour. The Ozzfest advertisement said there would be some unsigned bands on the tour that year. Disturbed, Slipknot, and Apartment 26 (featuring Geezer Butler's son) were all on the side stage that year. I remember those 3 were unsigned at the time of joining the tour. Also on the side stage that year (if my memory is correct) were, Incubus, and hed P.E. Disturbed sounded great the sound was nice and clear, so you could actually here them play. Rosebud & I both liked them. Their escaped psychiatric ward stage look was a nice touch, orange jumpsuits and all. We made a note to keep an eye out for the CD release. Slipknot followed Disturbed. I remember turning to Rosebud after they started playing and said "These guys are gonna be huge." to which she said "And Disturbed will have to find a new stage look." Incubus followed Slipknot, and hed P.E. followed Incubus. My buddy John the 3rd who was with us just said "To much going on with the turntables, didgeridoo, and rapping", then turned to go eat lunch. We didn't find him till after Black Sabbath's  encore. When Rosebud & I went for lunch, we sat down in the only 2 chairs open by each other. They were at hed P.E. singer M.C.U.D.'s table. We sat and talked with that guy for a while. He was very cool. Any way Rosebud's Tribute To Her Favorite Singers wouldn't be complete without David Draiman being represented.
