- "Yesterday When I Was Young" is the first Roy Clark song I remember ever hearing. I was pretty young kid but a big music fan. "Yesterday When I Was Young" is the first song that ever made me cry. It wasn't exactly because of the very sad lyics of a man confronting his winter of life. It was because it was so beautiful in a maudlin sense of the word. It was one of the first singles I remember buying with my own money.
Known Faults:
- The low volume of the commercials contributes to a higher amount of needle noise in the commercials. A highpass filter with a initial cutoff of 40Hz was used to lessen the effect.
Recording Notes:
- There is a locked groove test tone at the beginning of Side A for radio stations to set balance and output levels before broadcast. It was not encoded.
- There is a locked groove show promo at the end of Side D with a voice over. It was encoded.
Editing Notes:
- A Zerostat Positive Ion gun was used on LP prior to playback.
- A carbon fiber record brush, then a felt disc cleaner was used on the record prior to playback.
- Records hand cleaned with Record Research Lab Super Record Wash before playback.
- LP cleaned with the HumminGuru Ultrasonic Vinyl Record Cleaning System prior to playback.
- Raw transfer: EQ off, treble and bass levels set at +/- zero for most accurate sound of LP.
- Turntable balanced: Needle Tracking, Azimuth, Pressure & Antiskid Dialed In: Soundcard stereo field maximized: Goldwave always set to record while filtering any offset.
- Recording and all editing done in 24bit/96khz.
- Preservation being key the show is encoded complete with commercials and voiceovers.
- Declicked manually no Pop Fix Noise Reduction was necessary with this rip.
- The commercials had a maked difference in volume to the music. Volume was adjusted to match the body of the show.
Other Notes:
- Roy Clark was a huge influence on Southern Rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd for his guitar playing. Ronnie Van Zant actually name checks Roy Clark by saying things like "Ahhh sounds like some Roy" and "Come on play me some Roy" at various guitar solos on the bands albums.
- In 1976 Arthur Fiedler invited Roy Clark to perform with The Boston Pops for "An Evening at The Pops with Roy Clark and the Boston Pops Orchestra", Arthur Fiedler conducted.
- Roy Clak was just 17 years old when he first played at The Grand Ole Opry in 1950.
- Roy Clark, who started his professional career in 1947, was invited to join the Grand Ole Opry in 1987. Fourty years after he started his career.
- Roy Clark was shamefully not inducted into the Country Music Hall Of Fame until 2009, just 9 years before his passing.
- Roy Clark passed away November 15, 2018 at the age of 85, from complications of pneumonia.
- Roy Clark was also a pilot, obtaining his license in 1953. After Roy Clark died, His 1953 Piper Tri-Pacer was raffled off on December 17, 2012 to benefit the charity Wings of Hope.
- Wings of Hope is a nonprofit organization that partners with organizations in ten countries outside of the U.S. to provide medical evacuation flights and access to health care for remote communities. Wings of Hope also provides free medical air transportation to people within a 900-mile radius of its St. Louis headquarters.- Wings Of Hope info copied and pasted from Roy Clark's Wikipedia page.
- Ray Charles sang the Maxwell House "Good To The Last Drop" jingle for a long time. The jingle itself was written by Joseph Brooks.
