This 2-CD set is a composite from second generation cassettes, created from the two relatively short shows performed at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa on September 24, 1977. The Watercolors LP was in release at this time, and many of the tunes to later appear on the White Album were road-refined during this period. Material also includes PMG versions of tunes from Bright Size Life, the Gary Burton Quartet's Passengers, and others.
Only three songs were performed in both shows that night Phase Dance, Pat's Solo Guitar Piece, and Jaco, and the "best" version of each was selected for inclusion here. Every effort was made to maintain the integrity and flow of the PMG's original set lists while constructing this "full-length
concert."
