For Rock & Roll fans he wrote the song "Looking For Love" that to this day is included in every live set The J. Geils Band plays. Bobby also wrote a song that became the first hit for The Rolling Stones, "It's All Over Now".

Bobby Womack also became known for his party lifestyle. He was very close friends with Sly Stone and as he once said "... Me and Sly [Stone] were running partners."
