Known Faults: The start of the show is missing until "Southbound Train" which is joined in progress; "Our House" was spliced together to cover a gap; the end of "Cowboy Of Dreams" is cut; the rest of the show and encore (3-4 songs) after "Wooden Ships" is missing.

The latest in the Mike Millard Masters being released through JEMS is this excellent recording from David Crosby & Graham Nash.

We recently posted a very good audience recording of the Stills-Young Band from Dan Lampinski. That recording highlighted some of the very things that added up to Neil Young leaving the tour early. This awesome recording from Mike Millard, shows you just what Stephen Stills and Neil Young were hoping for. The audience is right where David Crosby and Graham Nash want them. They hang on  every word and note coming from the stage. They laugh at the pair's self deprecating humor. The audience noise is almost non existent during the actual music but engaging with the duo in between songs. Unfortunately we only get the acoustic portion of the show the electric performances are missing. What we do get however is 'EFIN AWESOME!!!

Dan Lampinski is as well known to bootleg collectors as Mike Millard for his quality audience recordings. This one such recording from the short lived Stills-Young Band and tour. Hoping for the musical and monetary success of the Crosby-Nash album and tour, Stills-Young didn't really get what they wanted. According to lots of sources including Neil Young, Stephen Stills was not happy on the tour, and it kept getting worse. Neil Young was getting more of the favorable press and response from the audience. The more Stephen Stills paid attention to it the more he got depressed and drank. This became a vicious circle that built to a point where Neil Young left the tour.

In the recording you can hear Still's voice is a little road raw. You can also hear some audience members that favor Young over Stills. You also get to hear Neil Young tell the audience to quiet down during the acoustic set. This shuts up the cat call guy sitting close to our dear taper thankfully. He's the reason it's only a Very Good Audience Recording instead of Lampinski's normal Excellent Audience rating...Oh and the rhythm section is Joe Walsh's solo rhythm section...just had to point it out.

The flac set is 24bit and is 3.2GB but don't worry I the average speed I got as a free user was 8MB per second...so enjoy!

This one is to help everyone to get over the hump today. The weekend is almost here so lets Rock! This is a great recording and the band sounds like they are really enjoying making music together. The audience sounds like they are really enjoying it too. They don't get in the way much but are present in the mix. It's a Millard recording of Stephen Stills and guest Bonnie Bramlett a name that should be a whole lot more well known in Classic Rock than it is. One of the most under rated vocalists of the 1970s along with Marcy "Marcella Detroit" Levey. Both ladies had more Soul in their voice than a church choir. Enjoy my friends!!

Pretty nice sounding recording from Neil's 2002 appearance at Rock Am Ring Festival. It can be a little "thin" sounding. It almost sounds like an excellent audience recording instead of an FM broadcast. That being said this is a must have show for Neil Young fans!! It's a great set with a 27 minute performance of "Down By The River". I actually replayed just that song 5 times yesterday!! You also have a great cover of Bob Dylan's "All Along The Watchtower" (a fabulous version)! This is 2 hours of Neil at his best and just look at the line-up of musicians. The Legendary Booker T. Jones, Donald "Duck" Dunn, & Steve "Smokey" Potts of Booker T. & The MG's. Rounding out the line-up The Mighty Frank Sampedro of Crazy Horse. This adds up to over 2 hours of musical greatness!!!

What can be said about David Crosby that hasn't been said. Successful with The Bird, with Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (and all the mini groupings within that very group of musicians). David Crosby is easily one of the most influential singer/songwriters to emerge from the ending of the 1960s.

The 1st time I saw David Crosby live was with Crosby, Stills, & Nash. It was the opening of the Palace of Auburn Hills, Michigan. The show was sponsored by the Detroit Classic Rock Station WCSX-99.8 FM. The tickets were actually $.99 American but you had to pick them up at the radio station and could only get 2 at a time. The other band to be one of the 1st to play The Palace was Pink Floyd sponsored by WRIF-101.1 FM. Those tickets were $1.01 American with the same rules. My friends and I (about 20 in all) went to each of these shows. My biggest memory of the C.S.N show was when David Crosby was 1st shown on the big Palace screen someone yelled out "It's Grandpa Jones" to which Graham Nash answers "And He's a pickin' and a grinnin'!" (People who gets this joke just gave away their age...LOL!!)

Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Joni Mitchell, Tom Scott and the L.A Express, The Band, Jesse Colin Young all appeared at Wembley in front of a estimated 72,000 to 80,000 people. Critics were mixed in their reviews some raving some saying that the laid back music lost it's power in the large stadium setting. There were no large projection screens so it seemed the bands had a hard time holding the attention of the crowd. The weather was quite exceptional however, having rained almost non stop for a week. The show was kicked off a half hour early because promoter Harvey Brooks was worried it would run over. Jesse Colin Young opened the show and went over pretty well, even earning an encore. The Band followed and although they were scheduled for a 2 hour set, played an hour and left the stage with only one encore. In Levon Helm's autobiography it's made clear this was due to Richard Manuel being "in a bad way" by that time. Manuel didn't even perform with The Band for the whole show, leaving the stage for breaks. Tom Scott and the L.A Express included a cover of John Coltrane's "Sneaking in the Back Door" in their jazz fuzed set. Joni Mitchell was said to be fabulous and was actually involved in the concert's promotion. Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young's set was recorded for a possible television broadcast but Graham Nash was reportedly disappointed with the bands performance as a whole and the film was scrapped.
