Paul Rodgers recorded a tribute to Blues Legend Muddy Waters in 1993 (which sadly is now unavailable). Paul's fans loved the CD and Paul went on a promotional tour for it. This great sounding Pre-FM recording is quite simply an absolute must have for all fans. Paul belts out his versions of some classic Muddy Waters tunes as well as the tribute track "Muddy Water Blues" written by Paul. Also on offer is the Bad Company classic "Can't Get Enough" and Free's "Alright Now". Because they are playing Electric Ladyland Studios the band also throws in an awesome blending of "Little Wing" and "Angel".

Before Ronnie James Dio climbed to fame as lead vocalist for Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow he slogged it out in his local scene like countless other musicians. Ronnie started his musical career in a Doo Wop group called The Vegas Kings. The Vegas Kings changed their name to Ronnie & The Rumblers who changed their name to Ronnie & The Red Caps when they got their chance to record a few singles. The band changed their name yet again to Ronnie Dio & The Prophets before recording more singles and the album Dio At Dominoe's a local restaurant. The restaurant in question became Dominoe's Pizza and has a plague outside commemorating the event that states "WE ROCK". The Prophets became The Electric Elves, then The Elves till finally becoming Elf. Elf released a couple albums produced by Roger Glover who suggested the band to Ritchie Blackmore as an opening act for Deep Purple MKII. Blackmore like Dio's voice so much that he took on Elf (minus the guitarist of course) as the core of the first line-up for Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow. After Rainbow Ronnie went on to become a Heavy Metal Icon as lead vocalist for Black Sabbath. The rest of course is history.

This is a soundboard recording from pre-fame Elf, with Ronnie already belting out "War Pigs", and also Jethro Tull, and Humble Pie covers. I have included some really cool bonus tracks that any Dio collector should not be with out. These bonus tracks regrettably are only in MP3 128kbps (sorry). I also have included a very good history of Ronnie's days as a starving artist.

This is a great sounding FM recording from Aldo Nova's tour to promote his fist album. Titled simply Aldo Nova the album went double platinum on the strength of the hit single "Fantasy". "Fantasy" went to #23 on the US Billboard Hot 100, as it became an FM radio staple for the summer. Aldo went on a very successful tour opening for Blue Öyster Cult. Since Aldo has enjoyed a successful career as a songwriter and producer. He has written and/or produced tracks for Clay Aiken, Céline Dion, Faith Hill, Blue Öyster Cult, Jon Bon Jovi and more.

A kick ass show from early in Bachman-Turner Overdrive's career. Tim Bachman is already out of the band by this time. Tim left shortly after the release of Bachman-Turner Overdrive II. Stories differ as to why Tim was not in the band,. One story is that Tim left to focus on music production. Another story is that Randy Bachman had gone through a religious revelation and insisted on strict no party (drugs & alcohol) or per-marital sex rules. Tim was asked to leave after he refused to follow the rules. Yet another comes from Rob Bachman who states Tim was asked to leave because he was not BTO caliber.

Continuing with our solute to Ronnie James Dio we have a fantastic show from the Rainbow Rising line-up of Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow. This tape is supposed to come from the personal archives of Cozy Powell. Cozy made soundboard and stage recordings of his many bands which have surfaced as bootlegs over the years since his death. This boot has two separate mixes of the same show the version on CD 1 being the most complete. Ronnie's vocals are amazing on this one. Personally I can never have enough live versions of Ronnie singing "Catch The Rainbow".
