No information was given with this file set not even an information text. I labeled it a soundboard but it is most likely an FM broadcast recording. With 17 tracks and clocking in at a little over an hour this Pure Prairie League concert is sure to please even the most casual of fans. Although Pure Prairie League enjoyed a long career and hit songs, along with Atlanta Rhythm Section and Point Blank they are the road least remembered of the Southern Rock boom of the 1970s. These days when discussing Southern Rock they speak of The Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker and Molly Hatchet. During the 1970s you could not turn on your FM Radio without hearing some Southern Rock along side Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin. So lets take atrip back in time on a road less traveled with Pure Prairie League.

This is a very nice sounding recording from Pure Prairie League's tour to promote their 7th studio LP Just Fly. This is would be the final tour of this line-up Tim & Larry Goshorn left to form The Goshorn Brothers Band while George Powell retired from the music business to become a hog farmer. Michael Reilly kept the band going eventually hooking up with Vince Gill. Alas when most people refer to Pure Prairie League it's usually for being the springboard for Vince Gill's huge career in Country Music. Vince sang lead vocals on Pure Prairie League's only Billboard Top Ten Hit "Let Me Love You Tonight". The song, which also featured saxophonist David Sanborn, would stay in the Top 40 for 11 weeks. I remember seeing Vince Gill on a game show hosted by Chuck Woolery (can't remember which one), Vince identified himself as the former singer of Pure Prairie League and an out of work song writer, can't remember if he won anything either.

"Intro" and "Kansas City Southern" were split into separate tracks.
"Love is Falling" and "Two Lane Highway" were split into separate tracks.
Encore crowd noise was faded in.
Some track markers were moved to the beginning of songs.
Aiff files were aligned on sector boundaries
Known flaw: "Love is Falling" fades out

This is a very nice recording from the Vince Gill fronted version of Pure Prairie League. Hope you enjoy!
