Haven't Done This In A While

Just wanted to say a few things. First I wanted to apologize for the posts coming a little slow. I have been quite busy at work putting in an average of 65 hours a week. This kind of takes away from the available time I have to work on the site, not to mention can make one tired. So this Sunday's posting has 6 new shows to keep you busy downloading (for a little while at least lol). We have a new one from the Legendary Earth, Wind & Fire. A 3 part spotlight on guitarist Nels Cline which includes a show from the Nels Cline Singers, Medeski, Martin & Wood with Nels Cline, and a 2016 show from Wilco. Also a double shot of one of my favs Chic Corea, one with Gary Burton and one with The Vigil.

I also wanted to take the time and thank everyone who stops by. We are now averaging over 800 hits a day.  We are also up to 20 followers! Thank you very much for choosing to follow our humble music blog!

Third I just want to remind everyone to visit our friends at the blogs listed on our site. Variety is the spice of life and a wide variety of music can be found by visiting So Many Roads To Ease My Soul, Floppy Boot Stomp, Voodoo Wagon, Camarillo Brillo, The Midnight Cafe, Brooklyn Steve, Arizona Jones, and The Hear Rock City Forum.

One last thing Rosebud's Picks will be returning, Rosebud has been busy with her studies (she's studying computer programing) and hasn't been able to go through her vast collection of shows to make selections. As of late she has found some time and has picked a few gems for next week.

Thanks for listening and enjoy the tunes!

The first offering for today's Sunday Morning Jazz is from Chick Corea & The Vigil. If your not downloading this one already then your not a fan of Chick Corea's music (just kidding JD). Personally I can't get enough of Chick's music and have quite a few boots from him with many different groups. This is one of my favorites. Lots of extended jamming on each track with the shortest song being a little over 10 minutes.

Our second Sunday Morning Jazz offering comes from the pairing of 2 Jazz Legends. Chic Corea and Gary Burton have been performing duet shows for a couple decades now and have an awesome musical relationship. Any one who is a regular visitor to The New JDP knows how much I love the music of Chic Corea, this show has been in heavy rotation on my MP3 player for a month now and I don't see it slowing down in the near future. The sound is very fine and also we get Chic playing vibes on "Armando's Rumba"! Don't miss this one!
