Transfer:
LPs cleaned with the HumminGuru Ultrasonic Vinyl Record Cleaning system. The album was then treated with D4+ and a Zerostat Positive Ion gun was used prior to LP playback. Large pops/clicks removed manually in Goldwave. Play back was a flat/raw transfer no added bass, treble or EQ.

Sound Quality:
Sound Quality is very good to almost excellent. Almost sounds like a monitor mix except for a moment early in the show where the mic gets covered for a second. Over all a very enjoyable recording that I don't see at The Traders Den, other torrent trackers or blogs.

Noted Flaws:
1. Side Two has a bad flaw at the beginning of "Sheena Is A Punk Rocker" causing loud pops and skips. The section is in the first 18 seconds of the song then plays fine afterward. I tried to ease the loudness of the pops but the skips are still there (but softer). This is the only real flaw in this recording. The flaw looks like little bubbles in the vinyl.

2. Incomplete show...setlist.fm shows a total of 31 songs played. "Eat The Rat" as show starter missing."I Just Want To Have Something To Do", "Too Tough To Die", "Mama's Boy", "Animal Boy", and "Wart Hog" all played between "Glad To See You Go" and "Surfin' Bird" missing.

I have had this record for some time now but only just got around to finishing the encoding. You actually could mistake this recording to be a monitor mix instead of from the audience. Yes it is in stereo and I do believe a bit of an exlusive for The New JDP. The performance is furious, I know I say this a lot but it is very true this time...Everyone who listens to The Ramones needs this show in their collection!!!!!!

The era of this recording was when I was first becoming aware of The Ramones. My first listen was in my 7th grade painting and drawing class. Our art teacher allowed us to bring in our own music to listen to while we worked on our projects. The same guy that turned me on to DeVo brought in a Ramones record. I thought it was pretty damn good on first listen (no I don't remember which one). I also caught there performances on Don Kirchner's Rock Concert and The Sha-Na-Na Show. I have been hooked since.

It's been a little while since I listened to this but I remember it sounded pretty good. You get a great Motörhead set sandwiched between 2 great Punk Rock sets from Attaque 77 and The Ramones. I had never heard Attaque 77 before but I will be checking out some of their studio out put soon, I did enjoy their set. I am a huge fan of both Motörhead and The Ramones, having seen them both live many times (never together). The line up of Lemmy, Fast Eddie Clark and Philthy Aniimal Taylor of course are my favorite line up. Next to that is the twin guitar line up with Phil Campbell & Würzel is a close second. I saw this line up at Harpo's in Detroit, the same year my Speed Metal band Psychosis was banned from Harpo's for being too heavy. It was on Heavy Metal Tuesday at Harpo's so we thought ok we got booked to open the show so we played all our fastest heaviest material. The set included 2 Misfits covers "We Bite" and "Mommy Can I Go Out And Kill Tonight". "Mommy Can I Go Out And Kill Tonight" was song 5 of the set but turned out to be the last. We got pulled of the stage and asked "if we thought we were The Sex Pistols or something". Then told to "go back to Blondies, you will never play Harpo's again". Like I said it was Heavy Metal Tuesday??, I also was wearing a Raven Concert t-shirt I had bought at a show Raven played at Harpo's. To be banned from Harpo's was the best publicity we could get. We made sure it was on every flyer in big red capitol letters "TOO HEAVY FOR HARPO"S" and "BANNED AT HARPO'S". Everyone wanted to see the band that was too heavy for Harpo's. Anyway I ramble too much enjoy the recording and I now think I told you guys this story before...

I ripped the waves with DVD Audio Extractor. I then used Goldwave to edit some track marks and try to address some of the volume issues of the audio. No EQ or noise reduction was used. There are however some fluctuations in the volume that I could not quite fix. This is however a very enjoyable listen. Some of the tracks have a DJ talking over them, I thought about deleting them, but didn't.

"Chinese Rocks" was written by Dee Dee Ramone and Richard Hell. As the story goes Dee Dee took it to The Ramones but Johnny originally declined due to it's obvious drug reference (but 53 & 3. It was first recorded by Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers. In the album credits, Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers tried to take credit for writing the song. The copy right papers however list Dee Dee Ramone & Richard Hell only.

Dee Dee Ramone would leave the band in 1989 for a solo career. His last show was July 5 1989. C.J. Ramone made his live debut September 30, 1989. Dee Dee Ramone died June 5, 2002 from a heroin overdose, he was 50. Joey Ramone died April 15, 2001 from lymphoma, he was 49. Johnny Ramone died September 15, 2004 from prostate cancer, he was 55. Original drummer Tommy Ramone (Tamás Erdélyi) died July 11, 2014 from bile duct cancer, he was 65. Surviving members Marky Ramone & C.J. Ramone no longer speak to each other.

The Ramones on tour to promote End Of The Century. The Ramones 5th studio album was recorded with legendary Wall Of Sound producer Phil Spector at the helm. The band admits that End Of The Century was written to broaden their audience. The grab for commercial appeal was not welcome to a lot of core Ramones fans. The album was the bands highest charting of their career. The reviews were mixed, as some critics praised the effort, while others simply trashed it. Sadly we have lost all 4 founding members of The Ramones. Joey Ramone died on April 15, 2001 from lymphoma at the age of 49. Dee Dee Ramone, who left the band in 1989, died from a heroin overdose June 5, 2002 at the age of 50. Johnny Ramone died at the age of 55 from prostate cancer September 15, 2004.
