Man, I love this band! One of those "should have been bigger" bands. One of the best actually. To think of melding the Southern Rock swagger of Lynyrd Skynyrd with the Hard Rock/Pop sensibility of Grand Funk Railroad. I have a show where the band performs fabulous versions of Skynyrd's "On The Hunt" and Grand Funk's "Walk Like A Man". Okay I already hear the questions "will you post that show?" Sure I'll post it soon within the next few days. Rosebud and I both have been enjoying this Milwaukee Summerfest recording lately so it is being posted first. Truthfully I actually thought I had already posted the other. We do have a few other Cry Of Love shows posted on the blog here for your enjoyment and all the links should be live.

Nice but short acoustic performance from Cry Of Love. The band sounds great and seem to be getting along rather well. However in 1994 at the end of the World Tour for their first album Kelly Holland would leave the band. The band wouldn't release album #2 until 1996. For that album former Lynch Mob vocalist Robert Mason was recruited. We do have more Cry Of Love music posted on the blog here.

There was a request for some more Cry Of Love shows. Shortly after this show singer Kelly Holland departed from the band. Depending on the story teller Kelly Holland either was fired just after this gig or quit due to the stress of touring. Kelly Holland passed away February 24, 2014.

Our first appearance at The New JDP from Southern Rockers Cry Of Love is a nice FM broadcast recording to promote the bands debut album, Brother. Brother was a success in that it spawned 3 Top 20 singles. First single "Bad Thing" hit #2 on The Mainstream Rock Chart, second single "Peace Pipe" hit #1, while third single "Too Cold in the Winter" hit #13. The bands success was cut short by the firing of singer Kelly Holland in 1994 after the bands Monsters Of Rock performance. The press release however stated that Kelly had left the band. Kelly Holland died at the age of 52 from a severe abdominal infection February 24, 2014.
