Eddie Van Halen has lost his fight with throat cancer. He fought and defeated tongue cancer from 2000-2002. In this fight he had about a third of his tongue removed.  Doctors declared him cancer free. In 2019 we found out Eddie had been fighting throat cancer. This cancer took Eddie Van Halen on October 6, 2020, he was 65. Rest In Peace Eddie.

A nice recording of Van Hagar firing on all 4 cylinders. There is a great scene in the movie Airheads. The lead characters tried to figure out if a guy was a rock manager or cop. They asked him a few questions. One question they asked him was what side he was on in the great Van Hagar vs. David Lee Roth band debate. He answered that both had good songs. They immediately identified him as a cop telling him "wrong it's David Lee Roth." I did appreciate the Van Hagar stuff, but favored the first two Roth solo albums he made with Steve Vai. I mean after having Eddie Van Halen as lead guitarist, you had to go with Steve Vai, right? Anyway, Eddie Van Halen's guitar God status goes unquestioned - PERIOD! Granted he was playing more keyboards in the 80's, but his guitar parts are still pure Eddie. Also, you get Sammy Hagar playing lead on his solo tracks (included in the set) with Eddie joining in. That's a nice twin guitar attack!

Time For Another Update On What's Been Going On

 First I want to say that we have finished re-posting all the links for all Funk, R & B, Soul, and Rap shows. A lot of these shows have also been upgraded to lossless as well. To name some of the bands we have re-posted from those genres.. we have Al Green, Ben E. Next up are some new shows as well....Rosebud's Salute To Her Favorite Vocalists brings us 2 shows from Ozzy Osbourne's solo career. I usually don't interfere in Rosebud's Picks but I said if it's going to be 2 from Ozzy it has to be 2 from his solo career and from the Jake E. Lee era. This way I can pay tribute to Jake E. Lee with 3 different boots because I wanted to share the Badlands 1989 Soundboard Collection. I also wanted to share a 1981 Kool & The Gang show from London. We also have another Marillion Pre-FM show this time from 1987 in The U.S. For my Jazz friends we have another Funky/Jazzy show from John Medeski's Mad Skillet. For a more traditional Jazz show we have the Makoto Ozone Trio.

There You have it..all the music we brought to you this time. We dare to estimate that we are very close to completing the archive rebuild. We are going to concentrate on the Blues recordings next and then the Classic Rock stuff. Any requests for a broken link to be fixed will be welcomed of course so don't be afraid to ask. We are trying to have a lasting archive of boots here so..

This is a remastered version of the same show as the bootleg The Drunkin' Show. The sound of this recording is really good. Ozzy's voice sounds really good as well, seeing how drunk her is rumored to have been at this show. You can actually hear Ozzy say off mic "..I feel like I'm gonna vomit..". This really is one of the best sounding soundboard recordings from the Jake E. Lee era (there may or not be better performances). It could be a live album with it's warts and all. Myself I prefer the warts and all concept of a live album. Saying that I don't care if a band goes into the studio and polishes up a live performance for release. I do however prefer the unpolished bootleg approach. My personal favorite Classic Rock Era Live Albums are Deep Purple's Made In Japan & Grand Funk Railroad's Live Album. Neither of these live albums have overdubs, they are the only 2 that come to my mind at the time, I know there is not many. Black Sabbath's Live At Last had no overdub's (the band had no say in i's release) but I don't consider the 1980's to be Classic Rock Era (I mean some of the keyboard and drum sounds can be anoying to say the least.)

The complete soundboard recording from the show recorded for King Biscuit Flower Hour and The Ultimate Ozzy Home Video VHS/Laser Disc release. This release has been deleted from Ozzy's catalog, as well as anything with the song "Shot In The Dark". This includes The Ultimate Sin, Just Say Ozzy E.P. and Live & Loud. The best of compilation The Ozzman Cometh was re-released with "Shot In The Dark" removed. These live versions of "Ultimate Sin", "Never Know Why" & "Thank God For The Bomb" have been released on the Prince Of Darkness Box Set. The Box Set covers the Jake E. Lee years sparsely with only 7 songs representing that era. This bootleg throws in a recording of the 1986 Monsters Of Rock Festival. This is a different source than the previous '86 Monsters Of Rock post I made much earlier on this site.

I downloaded this from Purple Hippies a site I highly recommend for Deep Purple, Rainbow, Dio, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake and Michael Schenker bootlegs.

The original uploader uploaded each show separately, so I put them together, found the artwork online, now none of us has to pay the ridiculous price copies of this bootleg are going for (and it's not cheep).

This is a nice collection of performances by the "Supergroup" formed by former members of Black Sabbath and the Ozzy Osbourne Band. Rather ironic actually that another former singer from Black Sabbath would form a band with a former Ozzy Osbourne guitar slinger. Ray Gillan had replaced Glenn Hughes during Black Sabbath's Seventh Star Tour. During the sessions for Eternal Idol Ray and Eric jumped ship. Ray, Eric & Jake added Greg Chaisson and Badlands was formed. This compilation is from the bands tour to promote their first album. The band was still fresh but the harmony was already dying. Eric Singer left before the recording of the second album to join Kiss. Ray Gillan left Badlands before the 3rd album demo sessions. Just 5 years after forming Badlands, Ray Gillan would die from AIDS related causes

Ray Gillan died of A.I.D.S. related complications December 1, 1993, he was 34.

Jake E. Lee went on to play with Wicked Alliance & Red Dragon Cartel

Greg Chaisson went on to play with a few other bands even Red Dragon Cartel but is semi-retired after a bought with cancer.

Eric Singer is now impersonating a very famous cat!

 The last time we posted a Makoto Ozone show, it was his arraignment of Mozart's 9th Piano Concerto for Piano & Jazz Orchestra. A great piece of music and one hell of a performance. This recording is a little more traditional than that but no less of a performance. I love Piano Jazz and my favorites are Chick Corea & Keith Jarrett. Makoto Ozone is right up there in the mix. I mean anyone who is influenced, at 12 years of age I might add, by Oscar Peterson to play Jazz Piano has to be good! Actually Makoto Ozone is a fabulous player, a prodigy that started playing organ at the age of 2. At the age of 7 he was playing professionally on TV, which he did for 3 years. He studied music at Berklee College of Music at the age of 18 and released his debut Jazz LP at the age of 21. You will be hearing from him again real soon as I am listening to a killer performance of Makoto Ozone and Gary Burton together., Fabulous!!
