The Pub Rock of The Kinks, the Funk & Roll of Rick James and the Jazzy Bluesy take on Rock & Roll of Van Morrison. Sounds like something Bill Graham would book at the Filmore. Now no 4-20 celebration would be complete without Rick James belting out "Mary Jane" the man's love song to his favorite smoke.

Ahh Funk yes! The King of Mary Jane brings the Funk to The Land of the Ganja! A match made in Heaven (or maybe somewhere south of) if there ever was one. In 1982 Rick James was flying high in more ways than one. It was the most successful time of his career, and his lifestyle of partying was already legendary. So grab this one my fellow Funk fans, to hear Rick in prime form. This is a dry soundboard with very little crowd noise. The bass is right up front in the mix, as it should be in Funk, so it really rocks the sub woofer!
