Just A Little Ramble

Just thought we would address a couple frequent questions that have been coming in.

1 Regarding submitting music to the blog.. yes we do accept submissions. If you want to submit some music to the blog there is a few criteria that must be met. The recording must not be commercially released, it should be of listenable quality (a broadcast, soundboard, or studio recording or high quality audience recording). We also only post music from bands that we like to listen to (it is a very broad choice of music as you can tell). If you want to submit music please email us at nosferritu@gmail.com so we can work out arraignments.

 

 2 How do we pick the music for posting... well it's pretty easy, Rosebud and I will only post bootlegs that we want to listen to. That means artists we like and quality recordings. Basically we post what we have been listening to during the week.

3 Yes the Sunday Morning Jazz will be a on going feature. We listen to a lot of Jazz while relaxing after work and on Sunday morning while working on the blog.

4 Is this available in lossless gets asked a lot...if we have the lossless version we do post it, unfortunately we don't always have a lossless version of a show we want to post.

Last but certainly not least.. We just want to thank everyone who visits The New JDP.. without visits to the site we are just a site with links...Thank You.

The second of our Sunday Morning Jazz offerings is a pretty special recording. This is the first live performance of Return To Forever with guitarist Al Di Meola. Guitarist Bill Conners had left to pursue a solo career, Detroit native Earl Klugh was brought in to cover some of the gigs. Earl Klugh had to go back to Detroit for some personal reasons and the guitarist spot was once again empty. A friend of Chick Corea's gave him a tape of 19 year old Al Di Meola and insisted he listen to the tape. Al and the group then had 4 days to practice the material for this gig. They sound great. Also some of the songs played on this night were played in front of an audience for the first time. Highly recommended!
