Sass Jordan's whiskey and cigarettes vocals drew immediate and inevitable comparisons to Janis Joplin, but Sass was not just a Janis for the 90's. Sass' plays ballsy, blues rock in the vain of The Black Crows, with an on stage fire to match. I remember "Make You A Believer", "If Your Gonna Love Me" & "Pissin' Down" being in heavy rotation on Detroit Radio. Sass still makes music and tours to this day, but also is a judge on Canadian Idol. She played the lead role in the hit Off Broadway production "Love Janis" based on the life of Miss Joplin, and played in Canadian productions of The Vagina Monologues. She has also won Billboard's Best Female Rock Vocalist award, recorded a duet with Joe Cocker, and had songs featured on Melrose Place, Party Of Five, Baywatch and Knightrider.
I was supposed to see this show with some friends but couldn't make it, of course my friends actually got backstage, Sass and the band signed autographs, posed for pictures and gave them free CD's.

Shorter broadcast than the Roseville show, but just as great a performance. Unfortunately you don't get the encore of Robin Trower's "Too Rolling Stoned". The Roseville show is a more complete concert, but this is a slightly better recording. Sass bootlegs being so rare I recommend downloading both.

Thanks for the artwork go out to Rock Rare Collection Fetish.
