6 Degrees Of Led Zeppelin Post # 8

Jimmy Page did a lot of session work prior to forming Led Zeppelin. Jimmy plays guitar on a number of tracks on Joe Cocker's debut album including Joe's version of "With A Little Help From My Friends".

T.U.B.E had this posted over at Guitars 101 a while ago, so thanks go out to Edge for this.

This was a very special concert in Berlin for the fall of the Berlin Wall, and the free people of the GDR. A lot of bands were playing for that reason, and some of the shows were broadcast by SFB 2(Station Free Berlin). Joe Cocker was playing only some of his greatest hits because there was not enough time for a full set. Later that evening he was playing a full show in Denmark. He was only in Berlin a few hours for the event, he then flew to Denmark. So enjoy this part of Berlin's Rock and Roll history.

Eric Clapton was a Yardbird when he earned the nickname Slowhand. The fans also started writing Clapton Is God! all over England at that time.

This recording comes from the rehearsals for Eric Clapton's tour of Jazz Festivals with a Jazz/Blues band consisting of some legends of the genre.

6 Degrees Of Led Zeppelin Post # 5

Another obvious choice since Jimmy Page was a member of The Yardbirds before forming Led Zeppelin. When Keith Relf, Chris Dreja, and Jim McCarty called it quits, Jimmy Page was left with the rights to the name and  responsible for finishing off the bands live commitments. Jimmy Page formed The New Yardbirds with Robert Plant, John Paul Jones & John Bonham. The band morphed into Led Zeppelin.
