Uploader's Mastering Notes:
One of my early live radio recordings and it had some issues (the Fisher receiver and my FM reception). A 60Hz hum and a high pitch tone at 8.1 KHz were removed with iZotope RX4A. Removing the 8.1 KHz tone makes this very nice sounding. Some dropouts were repaired by pasting the opposite channel over the defect.

I just love Linda Ronstadt's voice. She sings more beautiful than she looks, and that my friends is saying a lot! I am not going to dwell on her looks too long but will say a little more. Do you remember her iconic photo, singing in the cub scout uniform. Yeah Madonna you owe Linda Ronstadt money! You wouldn't be able to walk around singing "Like A Virgin" in a pointy bra and stockings if not for Linda Ronstadt crooning "Blue Bayou" in a cub scout uniform.

On to her voice which is the inner beauty of this woman. Like another beautiful woman & voice (Pat Benetar) Linda Ronstadt has a multi octave range, contralto to soprano. When I went over to my guitar players house to talk music for the first time I was surprised by his extensive Linda Ronstadt album collection. He said to me "Dave if I could convince Linda Ronstadt to sing Thrash Metal, you're out of a job! Her or Ian Gillan" I told him I would bow out gracefully and buy every album! Linda never sang Thrash but she sang Country, Country Rock (California Sound), Punk, Rock, Broadway, Jazz, Mariachi and more.

What can you say about Linda Ronstadt that hasn't been said. She is one of the greatest vocalists ever to sing Rock, Country, Pop and more. For me there was just something about Linda that just made me a long time fan. I never stopped buying her records through all the changes in styles. There is not a lot of artist I an say that about. I mean there is Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Opeth, Venom, and a few more,. I however haven't bought a Rolling Stones album since Emotional Rescue. The last Aerosmith album I bought was Done With Mirrors, Foreigner I gave up on after I bought Agent Provocateur, Jefferson Starship after Freedom At Point Zero but I absolutely love Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music, there is no figuring out anyone's taste I guess.

Linda's guest on this one was comedian Steve Martin doing "Dueling Banjos for One Banjo". If you liked Linda's guest appearance with the Eagles you'll love this one as well. Linda was promoting her "Heart Like A Wheel" release at the time. An album that would hit #1 on the Billboard Top 200 charts. The album went gold in 1975, which was harder to do the way the system was set up back then. Billboard Magazine named Linda the Top Female Artist of The Year based on her singles and album chart performance. The album is now considered a classic of 1970's Pop/Rock.
