Rosebud picked another good one for you, this time a Master Recording from Geoff Tate on yet another World Tour celebrating Operation Mindcrime. So you get the full Mindcrime performance and a couple other tracks. One song stands out as being a rare performance, "One Foot In Hell" from Operation Mindcrime II. It's not a track played that often with being in a complete performance of Mindcrime II. So that's pretty cool, Geoff's in pretty good voice as well. All in all a really enjoyable listen.

Now this transfer of Tapehead2's Analog Master via the Krw_co crew just popped up at the Trader's Den about a week ago. It's a raw transfer that has it's faults which I have noted the worst of. Now it also has it's advantages too. I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to this recording over and over since I downloaded it. So much so that my son Spider asked me to retire it for a while. I was being a little annoying, stopping and starting so I could catalog some blemish in the recording. Don't let the list of faults keep you from downloading most do not affect any music. It really is a nice listen! I'm sure someone will remaster this sooner or later, it's a great start, a little EQ and manual noise removal and this could be polished into a gem.

It's the 3rd line-up of The Joe Perry Project. Now I don't remember if Joe had trouble keeping members or if he wanted to keep the line-up fluid. I thought it was great seeing one of my musical heroes in the concert theaters instead of the arena. In my naivety of youth I didn't even think Joe Perry might not want to be back in the theaters. I also thought both camps released really good music. Aerosmith's Night In The Ruts was actually the first Aerosmith studio album to disappoint me. They did release a great album with Rock In A Hard Place but to me the band never again released anything to match the catalog from the debut to Draw The Line. Now when I brought home Let The Music Do The Talking I could not believe the groove the band had. It had a more raw and funky feel to it, like the debut album, it blew me away. The last Aerosmith album I bought was Done With Mirrors. I thought it sounded unfinished like a set of demos. Isn't it funny, some bands you move along with as a fan, some you just let go of as they progress in their career?

Japanese Jazz Guitarist Kazumi Watanabe was brought to my attention by my family Doctor during a check up. See I been going to the same Doctor for 25 years and we have a great rapport. We also have a love of a lot of the same bands. He plays stuff like Emerson, Lake & Palmer's Tarkus or Genesis Foxtrot on his office radio. So this great guitar piece was playing and I asked him who it was he said Kazumi Watanabe then turned it up (see why I love the guy each room has a volume knob that goes to 11). I then went looking for bootlegs of Kazumi and this one is the first I found and it sounds fantastic!!!

If you like Jazz-Fusion like the stuff Jeff Beck did around Blow By Blow and Wired...If you like the stuff done by Return To Forever... You should enjoy Kazumi Watanabe. For good measure he brought along A Living Legend In Jazz-Fusion Marcus Miller to play bass. The fabulous Omar Hakim on drums, Warren Bernhardt on keys and Mike Mainieri on vibes round out the band. Too much talent, I am surprised a tape could hold it!! They are called The To Chi Ka All-Stars because they were the main line-up on Kazumi's 1980 break out album To Chi Ka.
